TL;DR: An automatic fringe detection algorithm applied to moire deflectometry is presented, which is dynamic in the sense that it tracks the fringe even when it suffers continuous deformations.
Abstract: An automatic fringe detection algorithm applied to moire deflectometry is presented. This algorithm is based on a set of points linked together and with a behavior similar to a rubber band, in which these points are attracted to fit the moire fringes. The collective behavior of these points gives rise to a final state which is their regularly spaced alignment along the fringe pattern. The algorithm is dynamic in the sense that it tracks the fringe even when it suffers continuous deformations. Once the rubber band is adapted, the rubber band’s points coordinates are obtained and their distance to the starting straight line is found, as required by moire deflectometry.

TL;DR: By this new method, a technique for describing a 3-D object by means of the slope of facets composing the object is made possible.
Abstract: A new method of moire topography is described. This encompasses two processes: recording of the deformed grating projected onto a 3-D object, and posterior development of contour moire from the record. The development of contour moire is realized by projecting a linear grating onto a photographic print of the record of the deformed grating, using a photographic enlarger. By this new method, a technique for describing a 3-D object by means of the slope of facets composing the object is made possible.

TL;DR: In this paper, a halftone screen is presented for use in combination with reproduction devices that are capable of rendering more than two tone levels, and the screen is optimized to minimize both tone and color shift in the presence of variations in the printing process.
Abstract: A halftone screen is presented for use in combination with reproduction devices that are capable of rendering more than two tone levels. The screen is optimized to minimize both tone and color shift in the presence of variations in the printing process. The intermediate density levels, which are assigned to a minority of the microdots within each halftone cell, are different within adjacent halftone cells. FIG. 9

TL;DR: This study proposed to generate digital sampling Moiré fringes by two-pixel down-sampling as a substitute for microscope scanning Moirés fringes, and further reconstruct multiplication MoirÉ fringes for micron/nano-scale deformation measurement.
Abstract: This study proposed to generate digital sampling Moire fringes by two-pixel down-sampling as a substitute for microscope scanning Moire fringes, and further reconstruct multiplication Moire fringes for micron/nano-scale deformation measurement. The displacement and strain sensitivities of the proposed reconstructed multiplication Moire method are 2 times higher in a wide field of view. Besides, two-dimensional deformation is easily measurable without rotating the sample stage or the scanning lines, no matter whether the scanning resolution is adjustable or not. As an example, the deformations of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic specimen were measured and analyzed. The proposed method effectively expands the application range of the Moire technique to deformation measurement.

TL;DR: A new approach based on the moire theory and wavelet transform (WT) is proposed for measuring the micro-range distance between a charge-couple-device (CCD) camera and a two-dimensional reference grating.
Abstract: A new approach based on the moire theory and wavelet transform (WT) is proposed for measuring the micro-range distance between a charge-couple-device (CCD) camera and a two-dimensional reference grating. The micro-range distance is determined by measuring the pitch of the moire pattern image, which is digitized by a CCD camera. A one-dimensional WT algorithm is applied to estimate the pitch of the moire pattern. Experimental results prove that this technique is very efficient and highly accurate. The moire range finder is an economic technique for measuring a micro-range distance.
