Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the long-term performance, mechanical properties, and durability of a mortar comprising ceramic waste as supplementary cementitious material and ceramic particles as fine aggregates.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple methodology was proposed for the mix design of the mortar phase in binary blends of powder with the aim of simultaneously obtaining both adequate flow properties and the necessary compressive strength.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, a basic approach is offered by granulometric analysis, allowing separation of the mortar into its components, in which the finer fraction is richer in binder, and some analyses on this fraction (μ m) were performed to define the nature and quantity of the binder in the mortar.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: All the prepared mortars had compressive strength values greater than 30 MPa which are suitable for most building applications based on ASTM C 270 and a significant enhancement of radiation-shielding was achieved when the CRT glasses were used due to the presence of lead.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, three types of fine mixed aggregate were used for masonry mortar production in the city of Havana, Cuba and the results obtained from the tests proved that the masonry mortars manufactured with a combination of recycled fine aggregates and any of the three different types of filler mentioned not only complied with the requirements established in the Cuban regulation, but in the majority of cases the properties obtained from these mortars were better than those mortars made with natural aggregate.
