TL;DR: In this article, a system for use in transport vehicles, comprising in combination an auxiliary power unit (APU) for a transport vehicle powered by a diesel engine and having a fuel system, an engine exhaust system and a battery powered electrical system, was disclosed.
Abstract: There is disclosed a system for use in transport vehicles, comprising in combination an auxiliary power unit (APU) for a transport vehicle powered by a diesel engine and having a fuel system, an engine exhaust system and a battery powered electrical system; an engine exhaust adapter wherein engine exhaust from the air-cooled diesel engine is directly coupled through the exhaust adapter installed in-line with an exhaust pipe of the transport vehicle between the engine of the transport vehicle and the muffler of the transport vehicle; and a locator unit for use in a tracking and monitoring system for communicating over a communication network with the locator unit and with a remote location for the APU, wherein the locator unit is attached to or installed within the APU.

TL;DR: In this article, a device for preventing the freezing of the liquid reducing agent to be injected for supply to the upstream of the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst arranged in an exhaust system formed of an exhaust manifold, an exhaust pipe and a muffler of an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine at cold time in a storage tank and a supplying pipeline.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the freezing of the liquid reducing agent to be injected for supply to the upstream of the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst arranged in an exhaust system formed of an exhaust manifold, an exhaust pipe and a muffler of an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine at cold time in a storage tank and a supplying pipeline. SOLUTION: A heating wire 9-2 is arranged over or a main part of a storage tank 7 and a supplying pipeline for the liquid reducing agent, and an enveloping layer of the heat insulating material is provided thereon, and furthermore, a heating wire heating means 9-1 is provided in the storage tank 7 at need, and these heating wires are electrified and electrifying is cut from outside in response to the atmospheric temperature and/or reducing agent temperature so as to maintain the appropriate temperature range for preventing the freezing of the liquid reducing agent. TL;DR: In this paper, an exhaust emission purifier formed of an oxidation catalyst is attached to the partition plate, thereby allowing the exhaust gas ejected from the exhaust port to be introduced into the second expansion chamber from the first expansion chamber via the exhaust emissions purifier.
Abstract: A muffler for an internal combustion engine has a vertically elongated expansion chamber into which an exhaust gas from the exhaust port of internal combustion engine is introduced. The expansion chamber is separated level-wise into a first expansion chamber and a second expansion chamber by a partition plate. An exhaust emission purifier formed of an oxidation catalyst is attached to the partition plate, thereby allowing the exhaust gas ejected from the exhaust port to be introduced into the second expansion chamber from the first expansion chamber via the exhaust emission purifier. The exhaust emission purifier is spaced apart from the exhaust port by a predetermined distance in a direction orthogonal to an ejecting direction of the exhaust gas.

TL;DR: The exhaust sound and emission control system is a system for reducing sound and noxious emissions from an automotive exhaust as discussed by the authors, which can have an exhaust resonator (34) having one or more catalytic converter elements (24) in combination therewith in a single device (10).
Abstract: The exhaust sound and emission control system is a system for reducing sound and noxious emissions from an automotive exhaust. The system may have an exhaust resonator (34) having one or more catalytic converter elements (24) in combination therewith in a single device (10). Alternatively, the system may have multiple angularly disposed chambers therein, with a series of V-shaped baffles or guides in one of the chambers, thereby combining resonator and muffler functions in a single device. In another alternative, the system has a series of longitudinal tubes therein, in combination with a series of V-shaped guides or vanes, combining catalytic converter, muffler, and resonator functions in a single device. The various elements of the different embodiments, e.g. catalytic converter element(s), double wall shell, perforated tubes and multiple flow paths, interconnecting crossover tubes, etc., may be combined with one another as practicable.
