TL;DR: This paper analyzes outage probability for secrecy rate in MIMO wireless systems in the presence of eavesdroppers and jammers for CPS devices and observes that the proposed approach outperforms the other existing approaches.
Abstract: Large-scale multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless system is regarded as a solution to provide high speed connection for exponentially increasing wireless subscriptions for emerging cyber-physical systems (CPSs) and Internet of Things. In order to realize its full potential, there are several challenges to be addressed to achieve high secrecy rate or data rate. In this paper, we analyze outage probability for secrecy rate in MIMO wireless systems in the presence of eavesdroppers and jammers for CPS devices. Our proposed approach takes into account the impact of jammers while finding the best response to minimize the jamming/interfering effect (or to enhance the secrecy rate) and the impact of eavesdropper in secrecy rates of the users. We present formal analysis for secrecy outage probability and interception probability considering Rayleigh fading scenario. The performance is evaluated by using numerical results obtained from Monte Carlo simulations. Numerical results indicate that the system performance is improved significantly when the users adapt their transmit vectors based on their observed interference values. Furthermore, the secrecy outage probability increases with power of jammer and the secrecy capacity decreases when jammer power increases. We observed that the proposed approach outperforms the other existing approaches.

Abstract: We study the two-user Gaussian multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast channel with common and confidential messages. In this channel, the transmitter sends a common message to both users, and a confidential message to each user which needs to be kept perfectly secret from the other user. We obtain the entire capacity region of this channel. We also explore the connections between the capacity region we obtain for the Gaussian MIMO broadcast channel with common and confidential messages and the capacity region of its nonconfidential counterpart, i.e., the Gaussian MIMO broadcast channel with common and private messages, which is not known completely.

TL;DR: In this paper, a scheduling-based downlink MU-MIMO mechanism is proposed in a wireless communication system, where an access point transmits a first scheduling message to a plurality of stations.
Abstract: A scheduling-based down-link MU-MIMO mechanism is proposed in a wireless communication system. An access point transmits a first scheduling message to a plurality of stations. The first scheduling message reserves a first transmission burst for channel sounding. The AP then transmits a sounding signal and in response receives channel state information (CSI) from the plurality of stations. Based on the CSI, the AP performs MU-MIMO encoding and applies transmit beamforming (precoding). The AP transmits a second scheduling message that reserves a second transmission burst for MU-MIMO transmission. The AP then transmits downlink data streams to multiple stations simultaneously. Finally, the AP receives uplink acknowledgements from the stations. In one embodiment, the scheduling-based MU-MIMO is implemented using PSMP scheduling technique. PSMP-based downlink MU-MIMO allows both 802.11n and 802.11ac stations to process multiple spatial streams with reduced complexity, enhanced performance, and significant power saving.

TL;DR: A dynamic dual-link wideband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounder that enables double-directional parameter estimation possibility for both links, and does not suffer from the deficiencies of previous "virtual multiuser" measurement systems.
Abstract: In this paper, we present and evaluate the performance of a dynamic dual-link wideband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounder. The channel sounder can simultaneously measure two wideband dual-polarized links, each with a MIMO matrix size of 30 × 30 and 30 × 32. Multilink MIMO systems, including multiuser and cooperative MIMO, are essential parts of future high-throughput wireless local area networks and fourth-generation cellular systems. To fully understand such systems, the dynamic characteristics of multilink MIMO channels have to be measured. In this paper, we present a channel sounder that enables such measurements, including double-directional parameter estimation possibility for both links. The presented dual-link MIMO channel sounder does not suffer from the deficiencies of previous "virtual multiuser"measurement systems. Furthermore, system analysis and sample results from a measurement campaign with this channel sounder at 5.3 GHz in an indoor office environment are presented.

TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for scheduling cooperative uplink transmissions in a virtual multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication environment are provided, which provides both random and channel aware orthogonal scheduling techniques for identifying a sub-set of N mobile terminals to provide cooperative UEs for each transmit time interval.
Abstract: A system and method for scheduling cooperative uplink transmissions in a virtual multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication environment are provided. More specifically, the present invention provides both random and channel aware orthogonal scheduling techniques for identifying a sub-set of N mobile terminals to provide cooperative uplink transmissions for each transmit time interval.
