TL;DR: The recent Intelligent Lan-guage paradigm and intelligent visual computing paradigm are applied to define the IM multiagent multimedia computing paradigm, which is further a basis to multimedia database design.
Abstract: Intelligent Multimedia techniques and paradigms are defined. We propose multimedia paradigms with many facets andapplication areas. The computing techniques, a language, theMIM deductive system and its model theory are presented inbrief. Basic application areas we start with as examples aredesigning predefined visual scenes with diagram compositionand combination for scene dynamics. The second applicationarea is based on AI planning[5]. Reasoning and planning canbe applied to define scene dynamics based on scene descrip-tions and compatibility relations. The project allows us topredict scene dynamics. We apply our recent Intelligent Lan-guage paradigm and intelligent visual computing paradigmsto define the IM multiagent multimedia computing paradigm. The paper is further a basis to multimedia database design. Keywords : IM, Multiagent AI Computing, Trans-morphing,Hybrid Pictures, Multimedia, Intelligent Languages, Intelli-gent Diagram Models, Dynamic Situation Epistemics, KRon Diagrams, Context Abstraction, Intelligent Syntax

TL;DR: The innovative architecture of MEVISE, the MediaSys VIdeo Search Engine over a large scale network is described and the content-based representation of the video data inside the MediaSY server is introduced.
Abstract: Multimedia searching over Internet has gained substantial popularity in the past two years, pushing the emergence of multimedia portals. The key issues are how to do access to multimedia data and so how to represent multimedia data to ease and to speed up such accesses. Access ways are evolving from keywords and related metadata to more intelligent representations (shadow semantics such information relationships inside the video itself). Furthermore, technologies such as Java, along with the growing number of Web browsers that can execute Java applets facilitate distributed multimedia accesses. Networking and computational performances are key concerns when considering the use of Java to develop performance-sensitive distributed multimedia search engines. This paper makes three contributions to the study of such performance-sensitive distributed multimedia search engines. First, we describe the innovative architecture of MEVISE, the MediaSys VIdeo Search Engine over a large scale network. Second, we introduce the content-based representation of the video data inside the MediaSys server. Third, we present the search capabilities of MEVISE.

TL;DR: This position paper presents a methodology for modeling the behavior of multimedia database users and proposes to analyze the query logs to derive the classes of behaviors of a user.
Abstract: Recently, the information community has seen the emergence of user-centric media applications, which are characterized by the central position given to the user. To fulfill the user-centric promise, it is necessary to understand and model the actions of the users of the system. This position paper presents a methodology for modeling the behavior of multimedia database users. To this end, we propose to analyze the query logs to derive the classes of behaviors of a user. The presented method bases on the characteristics of user queries and on taxonomies. The behaviors are established using a query classification algorithm.

TL;DR: The article presents a software system that implements a multimedia database management server that has a modularized architecture controlled by a relational database system and includes specialized modules for extracting texture and color characteristics from images and for executing content based retrieval queries.
Abstract: The article presents a software system that implements a multimedia database management server. The software has a modularized architecture controlled by a relational database system. An element of originality is that along with the classical functionality of such a system, it includes specialized modules for extracting texture and color characteristics from images and for executing content based retrieval queries. This system is tested from the speed point of view both for images processing speed and retrieval speed.

TL;DR: The disadvantage of present Network Examination Systems is described, and the view of using B/S Architecture and Multimedia Database in the system is pointed out.
Abstract: This paper describes the disadvantage of present Network Examination Systems, and points out the view of using B/S Architecture and Multimedia Database in the system. Then it makes a detailed research on the selection of Multimedia data model, and provides the implementation methods of the storage and access in an actual Network Examination System which is based on B/S Architecture.
