Abstract: The invention discloses a rapid propagation method for mutation breeding of herba verbena officinalis. The method comprises steps of disinfection of seeds, mutation of the seeds, induction of callus tissue, differentiation of callus tissue, rooting induction and the like. According to the method, the soluble protein content of seedlings can be increased through irradiation of ion beams, the protective enzyme system activity is improved, the seed stress resistance is improved, the genetic stability is good, and the regeneration rate of seedlings is high.

Abstract: In order to obtain usefull sweet potato mutants,the seeds of Qinshu 1 were intermittently soaked in the mixture of 005% colchicine and 2% dimethyl sulphoxide(DMSO)for 12,24,48 and 72h,respectivelyThen,the treated seeds under suitable soaking time were cultured in temperatures of 5℃-6℃,10℃-12℃,15℃-16℃,18℃-20℃ and 30℃,respectivelyThe results showed that the soaking time of 24h and culture temperature of 15-16℃ gave the best mutation efficiencyCytological observation was carried out in the progenies and chromosome number variation was not foundAmong short vine mutants,Duanwan 3 was selected,which possessed high yield,high starch content,high protein content and high nutritional elements such as Fe,Zn and Mn

Abstract: As an available method of creating new germplasm,mutation breeding has been used in plan breeding comprehensively,and the methods of mutation breeding also developed continually.This paper mainly introduced several methods which always be used in mutation breeding:radiation mutation,ion-implantation mutation,laser radiation mutation,microwave mutation,magnetic mutation,chemical mutation and space mutation developed recently;besides,their mutation mechanisms,the application on soybean breeding,the current problems and the development trend were also discussed.

Abstract: Mutation breeding of amylase-producing strain Bacillus subtilis K2 using supercritical CO2 was investigated.Based on the plate method and determination of amylase activity,the mutation conditions including pressure,temperature and time were examined.The optimal mutation conditions were as follows: pressure 8.0 MPa,temperature 37℃,time 30 min.A mutant with almost 33% increase in amylase activity compared with the wild type strain was isolated.
