TL;DR: The author argues that it is impossible to predict the behaviour of systems based on nanobiotechnology and, thus, scientists cannot devise any means of protection against their malfunctioning.
Abstract: Nanobiotechnology aims to manipulate atoms and ultimately create hybrid/artificial life by integrating biological and engineered synthetic components. The article describes the ethical, social and environmental implications of nanobiotechnology. The author argues that it is impossible to predict the behaviour of systems based on nanobiotechnology and, thus, scientists cannot devise any means of protection against their malfunctioning.
