TL;DR: In this paper, a method for modeling the exponential distribution of a random quantity, when only the integral representation for the distribution's parameter is known, is proposed and a theoretical probability proof of the method is given.
Abstract: A method is proposed for modelling the exponential distribution of a random quantity, when only the integral representation for the distribution's parameter is known. A theoretical-probability proof of the method is given.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare several linear estimators of the mean and right-tail probability for the exponential distribution, and compare the results with the linear estimator for the mean distribution.
Abstract: We compare several linear estimators of the mean and several linear estimators of right-tail probability for the exponential distribution.

TL;DR: In this article , a characterization of the exponential modified Erlang distribution with all rates different from each other is presented, which complements previous characterizations via hypoexponential distribution.
Abstract: The sum of independent, but not necessary identically distributed, exponential random variables follows a hypoexponential distribution. We focus on a particular case when all but one rate parameters of the exponential variables are identical. This is known as exponentially modified Erlang distribution in molecular biology. We prove a characterization of the exponential distribution, which complements previous characterizations via hypoexponential distribution with all rates different from each other.
