TL;DR: A high density metal-boride-based ceramic sintered body consists essentially of component (A) at least one of TiB 2, ZrB 2, CrB 2 and HfB 2 as discussed by the authors, and component (C) 0.1 wt.
Abstract: A high density metal-boride based ceramic sintered body consists essentially of component (A) at least one of TiB 2 , ZrB 2 , CrB 2 , HfB 2 , VB 2 , TaB 2 , NbB 2 , MnB 2 , MoB 2 , YB 2 , AlB 2 , MgB 2 , CrB, VB, TaB, NbB, MoB, HfB, YB, ZrB, HfB, TiB, MnB, W 2 B 5 and Mo 2 B 5 , componet (B) 0.1 wt. %-10 wt. % based on the total amount of a metal binder comprising at least one of cobalt boride, nickel boride and iron boride, and component (C) 0.1 wt. %-10 wt. % based on the total amount of at least one of a double carbide comprising Ti, Zr, W and C, ZrCN, HfCN, or a double carbo-nitride comprising Ti, Zr, Hf and C, N. The sintered body is not easily oxidized and has extremely few pores and high shock resistance even using a fine grain raw material powder because component (C) has an oxygen removing effect during sintering.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used macroporous type or gel type anion exchange resin as carrier and made the ion exchange by use of soaking method to make BH4 of salt such as KBH4, etc.
Abstract: The present invention uses macroporous type or gel type anion exchange resin as carrier and makes the ion exchange by use of soaking method to make BH4 of salt such as KBH4, etc. to bond with the resin. At 0-50 deg.C, the NiCl2, Ni(AC)2 or its compound system is carry on reduction; or it uses macroporous type or gel type cation exchange resin contained Ni++ as the carrier and makes that to react with basic aqueous solution of KBH4 of NaBH4, etc. contained BH4, so that the resin-loaded type nickelous boride catalyst is made. The said catalyst can show the better hydrogenant activity for olefin, carbonyl compound, nitro compound, etc. at ordinary temp. and pressure. The activity of the said catalyst is high, its selectivity is good, and it is non-combustible, easy to separate from reactant, convenient for recovery and can be used repeatedly.

TL;DR: In this paper, the reductino of a variety of functional groups with new dimethoxyborane-transition metal boride systems was investigated, which reduced olefin, aldehyde, ketone and nitrile functionalities under mild conditions.
Abstract: The reductino of a variety of functional groups with new dimethoxyborane-transition metal boride systems was investigated. These systems reduced olefin, aldehyde, ketone and nitrile functionalities to afford the corresponding reduction products under mild conditions. In particular, olefins bearing ketone, carboxylic acid and nitrile functionalities were selectively reduced with the dimethoxyborane-nickel boride system using 1/5mol eq of nickel boride.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for bringing the diborane into contact with the nickel can be used as a simple method for obtaining the nickel boride, such as Ni2B or NiB.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently remove oxygen contained in diborane to an ultralow concentration by bringing crude diborane into contact with a nickel boride. CONSTITUTION:Crude diborane is brought into contact with a nickel boride to remove oxygen contained in the crude diborane. The oxygen concentration in the crude diborane is normally about 100ppm, but can be removed to <=0.1ppm, further <= about 0.01ppm. Diborane alone or diluted with hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, etc., can be used as an object of the crude diborane. Nickel boride, such as Ni2B or NiB, normally known as a nickel boride and substances in which boron is bound to nickel in other various forms can be utilized as the nickel boride. For example, a method for bringing the diborane into contact with the nickel can be used as a simple method for obtaining the nickel boride.

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic properties of nickel boride thin films have been investigated with torque magnetometry and magneto-optic Kerr effect magnetometry, and these new materials have been characterized by SEM, AES and XES.
Abstract: The deposition of high purity and controlled stoichiometry metal boride thin-film materials has recently received considerable interest. Borane clusters and their corresponding metal complexes are currently being investigated in our laboratories for their utility as unique source materials for the formation of metallic boride thin films by MOCVD. Variable composition nickel boride thin films ranging from 0.1 micron to several microns have been prepared. These new materials have been characterized by SEM, AES and XES. The magnetic properties of these new films have been investigated with torque magnetometry and magneto-optic Kerr effect magnetometry.
