TL;DR: An alkaloid with a novel skeleton, oxazonigelladine (1), and four new dolabellane-type diterpenes, damasterpenes I (2) − IV (5), were isolated from the seeds of Nigella damascena.

TL;DR: The oxygen enhancement ratio (OER) was investigated in Nigella and Allium in view of the modifications of the parameters mentioned above and the distribution of chromosome aberrations was found to be non-random, showing clusters at regular intervals.
Abstract: Fast rejoining processes have been mainly investigated after fractionated exposures to 60 Co γ-rays of Nigella damascena seeds. Parameters such as initial and final levels of chromosome aberrations and threshold values were defined and the time at which rejoining occurs could be accurately assessed. Such results could be reproduced in two other species; Allium cepa and Vicia faba in the same experimental conditions. In Nigella damascena , results could also be extended to accelerated β-electrons. The oxygen enhancement ratio (OER) was investigated in Nigella and Allium in view of the modifications of the parameters mentioned above. These parameters were also deeply modified by 3 chelating agents: dipyridyl (DP), diethyldithiocarbamate (DIECA) and cupferron (CUPF). After pretreatments with dipyridyl, the distribution of chromosome aberrations was found to be non-random, showing clusters at regular intervals. All these data are used to reinterpret the fast rejoining processes after fractionated exposures to ionizing radiations.

TL;DR: In this paper, a general flavone extract of seeds of nigella damascena l, nigella sativa l. or nigella glandulifera freyn et sint.
Abstract: The invention discloses a general flavone extract of seeds of nigella damascena l., nigella sativa l. or nigella glandulifera freyn et sint., and a preparation method and a use thereof. The extract is extracted from the seeds of nigella damascena l., nigella sativa l. or nigella glandulifera freyn et sint., and the mass percentage of general flavones is 50%-90% of that of the extract. The preparation of the extract comprises: extracting the seeds by water, alcohol or alcohol-water solution, then degreasing by an ether solvent, leaching by an organic solvent, carrying out adsorption and desorption by a macroporous resin column, concentrating, and drying to obtain the extract. The extract provided by the invention has anti-malignant tumor, anti-platelet aggregation and anti-inflammatory activities, is expected to develop into an anti-malignant tumor drug or an anti-platelet aggregation drug or an anti-inflammatory drug, and has significantly medicinal effect; in addition, the preparation method of the general flavone extract of the seeds of nigella damascena l., nigella sativa l. or nigella glandulifera freyn et sint. is simple, has high practicality, and is suitable for industrialized production requirements.

TL;DR: Degradation of tritiated thymidine was found to occur in seed extracts of Nigella damascena, Vicia faba, and Triticum aztecum, and it can be inferred that a reductive catabolic pathway is involved.
