TL;DR: This paper considers other options of preprocessing (Canny and Kovesi-Owens edge operators), and concludes with a recommended setting for belief propagation on those sequences.
Abstract: This paper studies different specifications of belief propagation for stereo analysis of seven rectified stereo night-vision sequences (provided by Daimler AG) As shown in [4], Sobel preprocessing of images has obvious impacts on improving disparity calculations This paper considers other options of preprocessing (Canny and Kovesi-Owens edge operators), and concludes with a recommended setting for belief propagation on those sequences

TL;DR: In this article, a motor vehicle is equipped with a camera that captures an infra-red image of the roadway in front of the vehicle, and a video signal generated by the camera is processed by a signal processor so that the field of view of the image displayed by a display unit is selected in accordance with a control signal.
Abstract: In a night vision arrangement for a motor vehicle in which a camera captures an infra-red image of the roadway in front of the vehicle, a video signal generated by the camera is processed by a signal processor so that the field of view of the image displayed by a display unit is selected in accordance with a control signal. The control signal is generated by a signal generator which is responsive to one or more parameters of the movement of the vehicle. The width of the field of view may be decreased with increasing speed. The axial direction of the field of view may be adjusted depending upon the nature of a turning movement of the vehicle.

TL;DR: This robot main function is to detect fire and move towards the fire automatically to extinguish it from a safe distance using water and its movement and behavior will be fully controlled by a programmable raspberry pi.
Abstract: Fire fighter robot is a machine developed by humans to guard human live, because the accidents happening during the fire extinguishing process is uncountable. This robot main function is to detect fire and move towards the fire automatically to extinguish it from a safe distance using water. This robot’s movement and behavior will be fully controlled by a programmable raspberry pi. This robot which will be in a form of vehicle will move right, left, front and back to detect and extinguish the fire. This fire fighter robot will also have a thermal camera and an infrared camera mounted over it. The purpose of thermal camera is to detect fire and the temperature and the infrared camera is to provide night vision imaging which will do live recording of the entire process of extinguishing. This live recording can be viewed in PC reference which comes along with a log in system as well.

Abstract: -Many birds move at night, and although there is strong potential for collisions with stationary structures, the behavior of birds in response to such structures is poorly understood. We studied the nocturnal interactions of waterbirds with a 550v transmission powerline in the flat, open landscape of the Florida Everglades using a combination of surveillance radar to detect incoming birds, and night vision optical equipment to observe flight behavior. During 118 hours of observation we recorded a total of 285 flocks of ciconiiform birds crossing the powerline during spring 1997. We visually observed 663 birds in 187 flocks, and documented their response to the powerline. We found that the flight directions and the colony site locality strongly suggested regular nocturnal foraging behavior of some species, especially Black-crowned Night Herons (Nycticorax nycticorax) and Wood Storks (Mycteria americana). Birds flying at night were less likely to react to the powerline, suggesting that powerlines may pose more of a collision threat during darkness. However, we also found that waterbirds flew higher at night than during the day and thus came into a zone of potential contact with the powerline much less often than during the day. TL;DR: In this paper, a low-light video camera is mounted within a weather-proof enclosure on a vantage point of a marine vessel for improved night vision and a conventional video camera was also mounted with the video camera for daytime viewing.
Abstract: An aid for marine navigation includes a low-light video camera mounted within a weather-proof enclosure on a vantage point of a marine vessel for improved night vision. A conventional video camera is also mounted with the low-light video camera for daytime viewing. Video signals from the cameras are automatically selected depending on light conditions for transmission to a cabin of the vessel. Motors rotate the housing in a horizontal plane and in a vertical plane for enabling remote-controlled aiming of the cameras from the helm of the marine vessel. Sensors provide information on azimuth and elevation of the cameras for overlaying the video signal transmitted from the camera housing with this information for display with the video image on a monitor near the helm. Information on longitude and latitude, as well as vessel velocity and direction, from a global satellite positioning system receiver is also displayed. The overlayed video signal is RF modulated on to a predetermined channel for distribution to television receivers in other locations on the vessel.
