TL;DR: In this article, an audio signal is received in the form of a sequence of samples and may contain speech portion and non-speech portions, and each sample in the present sub-frame is amplified by the gain factor.
Abstract: Automatic level control of speech portions of an audio signal is provided. An audio signal is received in the form of a sequence of samples and may contain speech portion and non-speech portions. The sequence of samples is divided into a sequence of sub-frames. Multiple sub-frames adjacent to a present sub-frame are examined to determine a peak value of samples in the sub-frames. A gain factor is computed for the present sub-frame based on the peak value and a desired maximum value for said speech portion, and each sample in the present sub-frame is amplified by the gain factor. In an embodiment, variations in filtered energy values of multiple sub-frames enable determination of whether a sub-frame corresponds to a speech or non-speech/noise portion.

TL;DR: An audio signal processing system including a time-frequency conversion unit which converts an audio signal in time domain into frequency domain in frame units so as to calculate a frequency spectrum of the audio signal is described in this paper.
Abstract: An audio signal processing system including a time-frequency conversion unit which converts an audio signal in time domain into frequency domain in frame units so as to calculate a frequency spectrum of the audio signal, a spectral change calculation unit which calculates an amount of change between a frequency spectrum of a first frame and a frequency spectrum of a second frame before the first frame based on the frequency spectrum of the first frame and the frequency spectrum of the second frame, and a judgment unit which judges the type of the noise which is included in the audio signal of the first frame in accordance with the amount of spectral change.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for simultaneously capturing live audio and video feeds and reducing motor/rotor noise associated with the video feed for a multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is presented.
Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneously capturing live audio and video feeds and reducing motor/rotor noise associated with the video feed for a multirotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Noise reduction occurs in real time or near real time as one or more frequencies associated with a motor, rotor, or attitude of the UAV are recognized, subtracted and/or dithered from the audio feed, resulting in one or more correction signals. The one or more correction signals may be dynamically summed in order to generate a corrected audio feed for transmission.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a noise-based interest point density pruning method to reduce the size of reference fingerprints while increasing the number of sample fingerprints, which does not compromise the accuracy of an audio matching system.
Abstract: Systems and methods for noise based interest point density pruning are disclosed herein. The systems include determining an amount of noise in an audio sample and adjusting the amount of interest points within an audio sample fingerprint based on the amount of noise. Samples containing high amounts of noise correspondingly generate fingerprints with more interest points. The disclosed systems and methods allow reference fingerprints to be reduced in size while increasing the size of sample fingerprints. The benefits in scalability do not compromise the accuracy of an audio matching system using noise based interest point density pruning.

TL;DR: The authors showed that if the Levy measure associated with this noise has a positive absolute moment, then the Levy white noise almost surely takes values in the space of tempered distributions, and that the event on which the LSH is a tempered distribution has probability zero.
Abstract: We identify a necessary and sufficient condition for a Levy white noise to be a tempered distribution. More precisely, we show that if the Levy measure associated with this noise has a positive absolute moment, then the Levy white noise almost surely takes values in the space of tempered distributions. If the Levy measure does not have a positive absolute moment of any order, then the event on which the Levy white noise is a tempered distribution has probability zero.
