TL;DR: In this paper, a norbornadiene derivative is converted into an isomer of optical valence, stored in case of necessity, and chemical energy preserved arbitrarily in it is released as heat.
Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A norbornadiene derivative shown by the formulaI[R1-R4 are H or lower alkyl; R5 and R6 are H, lower alkyl, aryl; R7 and R8 are -CN, -COOR9 (R9 is lower alkyl); with the proviso that R1-R4 are not H simultaneous ly, and R5 and R6 are not H simultaneously]. USE:An energy converting agent for changing light energy to heat energy in chemical conversion. For example, a compound shown by the formulaIis treated with light, light is absorbed into it, it is converted into a quadricyclane derivative shown by the formula II an isomer of optical valence, stored in case of necessity, and chemical energy preserved arbitrarily in it is released as heat. PROCESS:A cyclopentenone shown by the formula III is reacted with a Grignard reagent shown by the formula RMgX (R is lower alkyl, aryl; X is halogen), and reacted with dicyanoacetylene or an acetylenedicarboxylic acid lower alkyl ester to give a compound shown by the formulaI.

TL;DR: The monobromocarbenoid derived from CH2Br2 and NaN(SiMe3)2 gives only endo adducts 4, 5, and 6 with 1,5-cyclooctadiene, but shows no selectivity with 1.3-cycloxyloxylon as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The monobromocarbenoid derived from CH2Br2 and NaN(SiMe3)2 gives only endo adducts 4, 5, and 6 with 1,5-cyclooctadiene, but shows no selectivity with 1,3-cyclooctadiene A literature report of a high endo adduct preference of cyclooctene cannot be duplicated, but cyclodecene is converted to 3 with 100% selectivity Bromocarbenoid adducts 11, 13, and 14 of norbornene and norbornadiene are reported A possible explanation for the varying selectivities is given

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an approach to synthesize a (3S,4R)-4-[(R)-1'-formylethyl]azetidin-2-one derivative using an asymmetric hydroformylation in the presence of a specific catalyst.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a (3S,4R)-4-[(R)-1'-formylethyl]azetidin-2-one derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate for a carbapenem antibiotic substance in high regioselectivity and asymmetric yield by the asymmetric hydroformylation of a specific vinylazetidine compound in the presence of a specific catalyst SOLUTION: The objective compound of formula III is produced by the asymmetric hydroformylation of (A) a compound of formula I (R1 is H or OH- protecting group) [eg (3S,4R)-3-((R)-1-t-butyldimethylsilyloxyethyl)-4- vinylazetidin-2-one] with (B) a (2S,4S)-diphosphine compound of formula II (R2 is phenyl which may be substituted with 1 to 5 lower alkyl groups or the like) [eg (2S,4S)-bis(diphenyl)phosphinopentane] in the presence of (C) a rhodium complex [eg Rh(NBD)BPh4 (NBD is norbornadiene; Ph is phenyl) or the like] preferably at 10-120°C for 6-30 hr COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO

TL;DR: In this paper, a cobalt complex with a modified phthalocyanine ligand which is covalently bonded with silica gel and has the following general formula is described.
Abstract: FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cobalt complex with a modified phthalocyanine ligand which is covalently bonded with silica gel and has the following general formula:, where: R=Cl, NHAlk, NAlk, n = 5-7, M = Co. Also disclosed is a method for valence isomerisation of quadricyclane in norbornadiene in the presence of the complex.EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a cobalt complex with a modified phthalocyanine ligand, which can be used as a heterogeneous catalyst having high activity and high stability.3 cl, 1 tbl, 29 ex
