TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived effective lengths for the passage of the flow perturbations through a supercritical convergent-divergent nozzle, and the effects due to the presence of a normal shock wave were also studied using a linearised form of the Rankine-Hugoniot relations.

TL;DR: In this article, a CFD model calibrated by the experimental results from initial designed ejector is used to evaluate the influence of 6 key geometry parameters on the performance (entrainment ratio) of an air-cooled ejector cooling system and to find the best design parameters.

TL;DR: In this paper, a handpiece used in dentistry is described, which is characterised in that it comprises a pressure reduction chamber (30) upstream of the said nozzle (20) and in that the optical axis (18) of the coherent light beam (10) is aligned on the central axis of the channel of the nozzle(20), the said jet (32) of liquid fluid being used as a waveguide between the working head (5) and the working surface.
Abstract: Device for ablation of material, particularly a handpiece (1) used in dentistry, comprising optical means (6, 16, 22, 32) for the propagation and guiding upto a working surface of a coherent light beam (10), as well as channelling means (24, 30) for conveying a pressurised fluid to the working head (5) of the device and a nozzle (20) situated in the said working head downstream of the said channelling means and connected to the latter in order to form a jet (32) of liquid fluid. The device is characterised in that it comprises a pressure-reduction chamber (30) upstream of the said nozzle (20) and in that the optical axis (18) of the coherent light beam (10) is aligned on the central axis of the channel of the nozzle (20), the said jet (32) of liquid fluid being used as a waveguide between the said working head (5) and the working surface.

Abstract: A substrate processing apparatus includes: a process chamber accommodating substrates; a heating system for heating the process chamber to a predetermined temperature; a precursor gas supply system including a precursor gas nozzle and for supplying a precursor gas from the precursor gas nozzle to the process chamber; a reaction gas supply system configured to supply a reaction gas reacting with the precursor gas in the process chamber; and a control part configured to control the heating system, the precursor gas supply system and the reaction gas supply system to form a film on each of the plurality of substrates by performing a process, while heating the process chamber accommodating the plurality of substrates to the predetermined temperature. The process includes supplying the precursor gas from the precursor gas nozzle to the process chamber and supplying the reaction gas to the process chamber.

TL;DR: In this article, a micromachined ultrasonic droplet generator was demonstrated by water droplet ejection from 5to10μm orifices at multiple resonant frequencies between 1 and 5MHz.
Abstract: Visualization and scaling of drop-on-demand and continuous-jet fluid atomization of water are presented to elucidate the fluid physics of the ejection process and characterize the modes of operation of a novel micromachined ultrasonic droplet generator. The device comprises a fluid reservoir that is formed between a bulk ceramic piezoelectric transducer and an array of liquid horn structures wet etched into (100) silicon. At resonance, the transducer generates a standing ultrasonic pressure wave within the cavity and the wave is focused at the tip of the nozzle by the horn structure. Device operation has been demonstrated by water droplet ejection from 5to10μm orifices at multiple resonant frequencies between 1 and 5MHz. The intimate interactions between focused ultrasonic pressure waves and capillary waves formed at the liquid–air interface located at the nozzle tip are found to govern the ejection dynamics, leading to different ejection modalities ranging from individual droplets to continuous jet.
