TL;DR: In this paper, a modular injection nozzle system for use with hot runner injection machines employs a thermal insulating element between the tip of the injection nozzle and a removable mold gate insert, which limits the heat loss from the tip to the gate insert and provides assistance in aligning the gate and the nozzle during assembly.
Abstract: A modular injection nozzle system for use with hot runner injection machines employs a thermal insulating element between the tip of the injection nozzle and a removable mold gate insert. This thermal insulating element limits the heat loss from the tip to the gate insert, assists in sealing the gate area and provides assistance in aligning the gate and the nozzle during assembly. The removable mold gate insert allows for eased servicing and assembling/dis-assembling of the injection nozzle system and has limited contact with the mold plate. In one embodiment, the removable gate insert is mounted to the nozzle via the insulating member, which is in the form of a sleeve with exterior threads which are complementary to interior threads on the gate insert. The sleeve can either be press-fit onto the nozzle or can have interior threads which are complementary to exterior threads on the nozzle. In either case, the sleeve can assist in the alignment of the components of the nozzle system. In another embodiment, the insulating element also includes an gap between the nozzle tip and the gate insert, the gap having a suitable insulating gas or vacuum therein to provide additional insulation. In another embodiment, the insulating element comprises a layer of insulating material on the nozzle tip and the gate insert can either be press fit with the layer or the layer can have exterior threads can into it to engage complementary threads on the gate insert. In another embodiment, the insulating element is molded in place on the nozzle tip.

20 Jul 1994TL;DR: In this article, the printhead is shifted regularly or pseudo-randomly such that a different set of nozzles print adjacent swaths or pixels of a swath in multi-pass or multi-dot per pixel printing.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ink-jet printing provides a redundancy strategy. A number of drop generators within the printhead is added to the standard array, providing redundant orifices in the nozzle plate at the ends of each column of orifices. In operation, the printhead is shifted regularly or pseudo-randomly such that a different set of nozzles prints adjacent swaths or pixels of a swath in multi-pass or multi-dot per pixel printing.

06 Apr 2010TL;DR: In this article, a combustor section is provided and includes one or more annular quaternary fuel manifolds mounted within an annular passage defined between a casing and a cap assembly of a combustionor through which air and/or a fuel/air mixture flows upstream from a fuel nozzle support.
Abstract: A combustor section is provided and includes one or more annular quaternary fuel manifolds mounted within an annular passage defined between a casing and a cap assembly of a combustor through which air and/or a fuel/air mixture flows upstream from a fuel nozzle support, the manifold including a body to accommodate quaternary fuel therein, the body defining injection holes through which the quaternary fuel is injected into a section of the passage at a location upstream from the fuel nozzle support.

04 Feb 1988TL;DR: In this paper, an ultrasonic atomizer includes an oscillating member, a means for vibrating the oscillating members at a supersonic frequency, a bottle for liquid storage, with an opening, fitted generally above the oscillator with regard to the preferred orientation of the atomizer during use, and a nozzle fitted into the opening of the bottle, this nozzle having a tip portion protruding outside the bottle in a generally downwards direction and approached closely to the oscillated member.
Abstract: This ultrasonic atomizer includes an oscillating member, a means for vibrating the oscillating member at a supersonic frequency, a bottle for liquid storage, with an opening, fitted generally above the oscillating member with regard to the preferred orientation of the atomizer during use, and a nozzle fitted into the opening of the bottle, this nozzle having a tip portion protruding outside the bottle in the generally downwards direction and approached closely to the oscillating member. The nozzle is formed with a fine groove for leading liquid in the bottle downwards to the tip portion of the nozzle by capillary action and by gravitational action, and with an aperture for introducing air from the outside into the bottle. Thereby liquid in the bottle may be properly supplied to the oscillating member to be atomized in a controlled fashion, and interruption of liquid supply and also dribbling of liquid are positively prevented. Constructions for the nozzle and for the bottle are also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-pressure, flexible, self-supportive, piping assembly for use with a diffuser/nozzle is described, allowing the position of the diffuse/nozzles to be conveniently adjusted in an unlimited number of directions.
Abstract: A high-pressure, flexible, self-supportive, piping assembly for use with a diffuser/nozzle (10), allowing the position of the diffuse/nozzle to be conveniently adjusted in an unlimited number of directions. The invention as defined in its preferred embodiment provides a diffuser/nozzle (10) connected to a first end of the high-pressure, flexible, self-supportive, piping assembly that is made up of a plurality of interconnected ball and socket elements (30) which creates a conduit in which a hose (40) capable of withstanding high-pressure fluids or gases is dispose therein, the said hose is functionlly connected to a fluid supply connector (50) at its second end. The assembly is encased within a plastic shrinkable tubing(60) for additional rigidity and to provide a better gripping surface.
