TL;DR: In this article, nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurement at ambient pressure and resistivity measurement under high pressure in the new heavy fermion (HF) compound SmOs 4 Sb 12.
Abstract: We report nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurement at ambient pressure and resistivity measurement under high pressure in the new heavy fermion (HF) compound SmOs 4 Sb 12 . The NQR spectrum and the nuclear spin–lattice relaxation rate (1/ T 1 ) clearly demonstrate the bulk nature of ferromagnetic ordering below T C ∼2 K. The temperature dependence of 1/ T 1 exhibits the characteristic behaviors of a Kondo lattice. The application of pressure decreases Kondo temperature and stabilizes the magnetic ordering, which is the same tendency as that found in some Yb-based compounds. The obtained phase diagram indicates SmOs 4 Sb 12 to be in the vicinity of its ferromagnetic critical point.

TL;DR: In this article, the electric field gradient at the 63Cu nucleus of Cu2O and CuO has been measured as a function of pressure using the nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency (vQ).
Abstract: The electric field gradient (EFG) at the 63Cu nucleus of Cu2O and CuO has been measured as a function of pressure using the nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency (vQ). The value of ( delta ln vQ/ delta P)T was 1.40+or-0.02(1.33+or-0.05) Mbar-1 for Cu2O at 295 (77) K and 5.4+or-0.1 Mbar-1 for CuO at 295 K. The value of ( delta ln vQ/ delta ln V) for Cu2O is -1.5, showing that Cu2O is not a purely ionic compound, as is often assumed in the analysis of the EFG of high Tc superconductors. The magnitude of ( delta ln vQ/ delta P) tau for 63Cu in CuO suggests that meaningful measurements of the pressure dependence of vQ in the high Tc superconductors can be made at easily accessible pressures.

TL;DR: In this article, the design, construction and performance of a continuous-wave spectrometer for use at temperatures between 77K and 80 degrees C was described, and the continuous tuning range with a single coil is 2.5:1 and the resolution is a few PPM.
Abstract: The paper describes the design, construction and performance of a continuous-wave spectrometer for use at temperatures between 77K and 80 degrees C. The limiting sensitivity for chlorine resonances with narrow lines is 1 mu mol and compounds of molar volume up to 104 cm3 can be studied. The corresponding figures for nitrogen resonances are 300 mu mol and 103 cm3. The continuous tuning range with a single coil is 2.5:1 and the resolution is a few PPM. It uses bisymmetric Zeeman modulation, there are no critical adjustments and no elaborate extra equipment is required.

TL;DR: In this article, a combination of proton-nitrogen level crossing polarization transfer with a pulsed spin-locking sequence makes N14 NQR fast and sensitive enough to be used in routine explosive detection as well as in the pharmaceutical industry for nondestructive chemical analysis of solid samples and polymorph determination.
Abstract: The authors show that a combination of proton-nitrogen level crossing polarization transfer with a pulsed spin-locking sequence makes N14 nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) fast and sensitive enough to be used in routine explosive detection as well as in the pharmaceutical industry for nondestructive chemical analysis of solid samples and polymorph determination. As an example we present “single shot” measurements of the N14 NQR spectra of 15g of trinitrotoluene at room temperature with a total measuring time of 20s.
