TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper discussed the features of genre innovation, the major force of innovation in creative industry, and proposed that using semiotics is a good way to deconstruct genre innovation process and understand the inner mechanism of it.
Abstract: With the economic contribution of creative industry being more and more widely recognized, researches in this field have been increasing dramatically since the 21 st centry However, in-depth disscusion about the mechanism and process of innovation in creative industry still lack of studying In this article, we discussed the features of genre innovation, the major force of innovation in creative industry, and proposed that using semiotics is a good way to deconstruct genre innovation process and understand the inner mechanism of it Furthermore, we analyzed the problems that the industry meets in genre innovation, and proposed that modularization comes to be a decent approach to deal with the problems Through modularization, creative industries can solve its dilemma facing the fast-changing technology and market environment, so as to realize efficient and effective operation and then obtain long-term competitiveness

TL;DR: In a highly competitive and fast changing environment, it is increasingly necessary for a firm to implement open innovation as mentioned in this paper, and the core process archetype of open innovation in MK is inbound open innovation or outside-in process.
Abstract: In a highly competitive and fast changing environment, it is increasingly necessary for a firm to implement open innovation. Adopting MK as a case, this paper examines the pattern and outcomes of open innovation. The core process archetype of open innovation in MK is inbound open innovation or outside-in process. We analyze the process and outcome of inbound open innovation in MK.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the process of introduction of an open innovation strategy in an intermediate city of Colombia, which is composed by micro and small enterprises connected with the world by a technology platform.
Abstract: Objectives: This article describes the process of introduction of an open innovation strategy in an intermediate city of Colombia. Methods/Analysis: A questionnaire to 460 companies in the region was applied, some important findings were detected: 74% of the companies have not participated in open innovation processes and 71% of these companies do not count with an innovation model, innovation management model, or innovation management system. To face these findings, some criteria for the selection of the platform to be implemented were identified; ten platforms were established and analyzed. Findings: After analyzing ten open innovation platforms and according to the criteria established at the beginning, SUNN platform was selected as the platform to be implemented as part of the open innovation strategy in the region. Some of most important achieve got during the implementation of the open innovation strategy were: lot of companies in the region produce new technologies or innovative solutions for solving internal problems, but they did not realize the value of the knowledge they generated until they started to use the open innovation platform. Through an open innovation paradigm supported by a platform such as SUNN, this project achieved to generate an innovation culture in the region. The SUNN platform allowed connecting companies, research groups, and startups of Quindio, with accessible costs. Novelty /Improvement: The implementation of an Open Innovation strategic in a small city of Colombia, the new ecosystem is composed by micro and small enterprises connected with the world by a technology platform.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a systematic method of idea landscaping, prioritization, and screening to aid in decision making thereby reducing time, bias in decision-making and risk in innovation failures.
Abstract: In a competitive world as ours, knowledge management has become a crucial part of innovation in organizations. Further, with the trend of open innovation being practiced throughout the different hierarchies of an organization, the inflow of knowledge has been higher than ever. The inbound open innovation principles by Chesbrough have been replicated across many large companies in practice where ideas for new products, processes or businesses come from external sources such as customers, suppliers, different departments, and competitors. However, prioritizing these ideas or concepts are based on subjective experience and intuition of decision makers. This research aims to eliminate subjectivity for prioritization and selection of ideas and concepts. It proposes a systematic method of idea landscaping, prioritization, and screening to aid in decision making thereby reducing time, bias in decision-making and risk in innovation failures.
