TL;DR: In this article, a power-frequency (P-ω) controller is presented for voltage source converters (VSCs), which is intended for multiple parallel VSCs forming a microgrid operating in both grid-connected and islanded modes.
Abstract: In this paper, a power-frequency (P-ω) controller is presented for voltage source converters (VSC). The approach is intended for multiple parallel VSCs forming a microgrid operating in both grid-connected and islanded modes. The proposed controller allows a VSC to mimic the operation of a synchronous generator (SG) by implementing the swing equation of SG with a primary frequency controller. In addition, a generalized model of the active power generation dynamics is developed in order to analyze the stability and to design the main control parameters. In contrast with the conventional droop control method, the proposed controller improves the close-loop system dynamic response without changing the frequency accuracy. The obtained results show the good performance of the proposed controller.

TL;DR: In this paper, multiple controllers are connected in parallel to control external circuits such as dc-dc converters so that the external circuits supply power equally to a load such as a microprocessor.
Abstract: Multiple controllers connected in parallel to control external circuits such as dc-dc converters so that the external circuits supply power equally to a load such as a microprocessor. All of the controllers are connected and each controller includes an oscillator and a pulse width modulation circuit to synchronize the frequency of all of the oscillators such that the duty cycle of all the oscillators are equal. Each controller includes an over-current protection circuit and an over-voltage protection circuit which will cause the controller with a fault to discontinue supplying power to the load. Each controller further includes a circuit to adjust the duty cycle of the non-faulty controllers when a controller with a fault is caused to discontinue supplying power to the load.

TL;DR: A new automotive fuel-injection controller using the cerebellar model articulation controller (CMAC) neural network is developed and implemented to maintain the engine air-to-fuel ratio at its stoichiometric value.
Abstract: A new automotive fuel-injection controller using the cerebellar model articulation controller (CMAC) neural network is developed and implemented to maintain the engine air-to-fuel ratio at its stoichiometric value. The CMAC controller requires minimal a priori knowledge of the engine dynamics because it can learn the dynamics and adapt to changing conditions in real time. The CMAC controller is experimentally evaluated on a research vehicle in a configuration fully compatible with production hardware. Initial training followed by continual adaptation allows the CMAC controller to maintain desired performance under previously inexperienced driving conditions. >

TL;DR: In this article, a system and method to control environmental parameters of pre-defined zones within an environment using an electronic controller is described, which includes a non-proprietary electronic controller which enables a weighting value to be assigned to each zone within the environment.
Abstract: A system and method to control environmental parameters of pre-defined zones within an environment using an electronic controller are disclosed. The system includes a non-proprietary electronic controller which enables a weighting value to be assigned to each zone within the environment. The electronic controller also detects any zone service calls from sensor devices associated with each of the zones and determines a cumulative weighting value in response to the detected zone service calls. The electronic controller selects an equipment staging combination from at least two possible equipment staging combinations in response to thermal capacity, and an air handler stage is selected in response to at least the cumulative zone weighting value.
