Abstract: The photorefractive effects of the as-grown and proton-implanted KNbO3 crystals were studied by two-wave mixing at 62.2µW/cm2 illumination. At this pump power level, the as-grown crystal showed little photorefractive effect, while the proton-implanted crystal showed an obvious effect. Furthermore, there seemed to exist two photorefractive gratings with response times of 22.54 and 1596.30s, at 62.2µW/cm2 pump power level, in the proton-implanted sample. This phenomenon has been attributed to the influence of proton-implantation.

Abstract: Organic photorefractive materials have attracted a lot of interest recently. Their optical response times of a few milliseconds, however, are not yet adequate for the desired commercial applications. We present an investigation on the correlation between the optical response time and photoelectric quantities, such as the hole mobility and the dispersivity of charge carrier transport.

Abstract: Summary form only given Tin hypothiodiphosphate (Sn/sub 2/P/sub 2/S/sub 6/) is a promising photorefractive material for red and near-infrared spectral range with the gain factor more than 10 cm/sup -1/ and the millisecond response time We report on particular behaviour of the coherent ring-loop oscillator with this crystal pumped by He-Ne laser With no special measures the oscillation occurs with two roughly symmetric temporal frequencies and therefore the output oscillation wave exhibits the high contrast intensity modulation The reason of this unusual feature is in special shape of the gain spectrum itself, typical for the crystals with two out-of-phase photorefractive gratings formed by the charge carriers of different sign
