TL;DR: From polarized reflection spectra of TEA(TCNQ)2 single crystals at room temperature, quantitative values of the complex dielectric function and the optical conductivity σ(ω) in the range from the far infrared to the ultraviolet have been derived.
Abstract: From polarized reflection spectra of TEA(TCNQ)2 single crystals at room temperature, quantitative values of the complex dielectric function e(ω) and the optical conductivity σ(ω) in the range from the far infrared to the ultraviolet have been derived. The polarization of the vibrational bands almost exclusively parallel to the highly conducting direction suggests strong interaction of conduction electrons with intramolecular TCNQ vibrations.

Abstract: The amine salts of linear polyaniline compounds, including substituted polyaniline compounds, are useful, semiconductors. These materials are generally soluble in popular organic solvents and have resistivities between 10- 3 and 109 ohm-cm. These compounds are useful in the formation of semiconductor compositions, including self-supporting films, and various semiconductor elements such as antistatic films and fibers.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was deduced from specific features of the mutual orientation of the deposit and substrate crystals that epitaxial nucleation is governed primarily by the oriented adsorption of TCNQ molecules on the ionic lattice of KCl and secondarily by sporadic matching of lattice points at the interface of both crystals.

TL;DR: In this article, a photovoltaic cell is fabricated from an active medium comprising an organic semiconductor in a gel, and when a film of such material is sandwiched between transparent conducting electrodes, a solar cell is obtained.
Abstract: A photovoltaic cell is fabricated from an active medium comprising an organic semiconductor in a gel. When a film of such material is sandwiched between transparent conducting electrodes a solar cell is obtained. The electrical output is greatly in excess of that obtained from prior art organic semiconductor solar cells of the same area.

TL;DR: In this article, the Munn-Siebrand theory of charge transport in anthracene has been applied to a number of aromatic hydrocarbon crystals belonging to the space group P21/a (Z=2).
Abstract: The calculation of two-center transfer integrals (TIs) has been critically examined and closed form analytical expressions have been obtained for them. It has been found that the TI between similar molecules (0,0,0) and (l,m,n) [molecular center located at la+mb+nc] is not the same as that between (0,0,0) and (l,m,n). This necessitates a reformulation of the band theory of charge transport in organic semiconductors. The revised theory has been applied to a number of aromatic hydrocarbon crystals belonging to the space group P21/a (Z=2). In view of the Munn-Siebrand theory of charge transport in anthracene, an attempt has been made to predict the likely mechanism of charge transport (coherent or hopping) in various directions in these crystals. Effect of the molecular size on semiconduction has also been discussed.

Abstract: Photoelectric phenomena in organic polymers are analysed, attention being paid mainly to experimental and theoretical information on the mechanism of photoconduction. Macroscopic photoelectric properties are shown to have common features in polymers, inorganic semiconductors, and organic semiconductors of low molecular weight. A list of 218 references is included.

TL;DR: In this paper, the conversion efficiency of solar cells made of organic semiconductors with metallic electrodes on opposite surfaces is calculated on the basis of a model of two diodes connected in series, but with opposite polarity.
Abstract: The conversion efficiency of solar cells made of organic semiconductors with metallic electrodes on opposite surfaces is calculated on the basis of a model of two diodes connected in series, but with opposite polarity. We find that the intrinsic conversion efficiency would be two orders of magnitude higher than the conventional value of 10−5–10−6 if the presently used solar‐cell configuration of organic semiconductors could be altered to have an Ohmic contact on one surface.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of various parameters on the electrical properties of polymeric organic semiconductors, e.g., chemical structure and crystallinity on electrical conductivity, was studied.
Abstract: Information is given on our recent works in the field of oligomer and polymer organic semiconductors. We were especially interested in the influence of various parameters on the electrical properties, e.g. the influence of chemical structure and crystallinity on the electrical conductivity. Various compounds were synthesized and measured (e.g poly(arylene vinylenes), poly(heteroarylene vinylenes), polyazomethines, polymers containing indophenine units, polymer metal complexes, coordination polymers, and polyazines).
