TL;DR: In this paper, the trichloromethylmercury RHgCCl3 (R=n-C3H7, cyclo-C6H11, C6H5CH2, and C 6H5) was obtained in almost quantitative yield by the reaction of the corresponding mercury tert-butoxides RHgOC(CH3)3 with chloroform at room temperature.
Abstract: Derivatives of trichloromethylmercury RHgCCl3 (R=n-C3H7, cyclo-C6H11, C6H5CH2, and C6H5), which are stable in the absence of air, were obtained in almost quantitative yield by the reaction of the corresponding mercury tert-butoxides RHgOC(CH3)3 with chloroform at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the tert-butylates of n-propylmercury, isopropylmerscury with diethylamine are accompanied by the formation of compounds that contain the Hg-N bond.
Abstract: The reactions of the tert-butylates of n-propylmercury, isopropylmercury and phenylmercury with diethylamine are accompanied by the formation of compounds that contain the Hg-N bond. As a result, we were the first to obtain diethylaminophenylmercury. The latter reacts with chloroform at room temperature to give phenyl(trichloromethyl)mercury.

TL;DR: In this article, an absorption treatment with active carbon or chelate resin after electrolyzing the waste water containing organomercury compounds represented by general formulas (I and (II) (R in the formulae is C1-8 alkyl group and X is halogen atom) is performed by using Al as the anode and Al or Fe as the cathode, and 4-13A/dm current density.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove the organomercyry compound in the waste water and purify the waste water by performing an absorption treatment with active carbon or chelate resin after electrolyzing the waste water containing said compound. CONSTITUTION:The electrolytic treatment is performed on the waste water containing organomercury compounds represented by general formulas (I) and (II) (R in the formulae is C1-8 alkyl group and X is halogen atom). The electrolytic treatment is performed by using Al as the anode and Al or Fe as the cathode, and 4-13A/ dm current density. Then, after the pH of this waste water is adjusted to 6-7 and the sediment is removed, this waste water is treated with conventional active carbon and the chelate type ion-exchange resin in which thiol group, thioureido group, polyalkylene polyamino group, etc., are introduced in styrenedivinylbenzene copolymer as base body. Therefore, the waste water is purified so that the organomercury compounds contained in the water attain to <=5ppb.

TL;DR: In this paper, the quantum yields of photolysis of organomercury compounds in different organic solvents have been measured and shown to be almost independent of the solvent, and it was shown that the photo-lysis yields of nitro derivatives of mercury compounds and the symmetric (methylnaphtyl)mercury compound are equal to unity.
Abstract: The quantum yields of photolysis of organomercury compounds in different organic solvents have been measured. It was shown that the quantum yields of photolysis of nitro derivatives of mercury compounds and the symmetric (methylnaphtyl)mercury compound are equal to unity. The photolysis of halo derivatives of benzylmercury proceeds with lower quantum yields as compared with photolysis of analogous dibenzylmercury derivatives. The quantum yields of photolysis of organomercury compounds are almost independent of the solvent.

TL;DR: The reaction of mercury(II) with 1-mercaptopropan-2,3-diol to form its mercaptide and protons, and alkalimetric titration of the acid produced is proposed as a simple and rapid method for determination of mercury.
