TL;DR: In this article, a 3-dB microstrip branch-line coupler with a wide passband, utilizing multisectional branch lines, is proposed, which makes it possible to reduce the internal impedance levels of branch-lines so they may be physically constructed by microstrip lines.
Abstract: Novel design equations are proposed for the 3-dB microstrip branch-line coupler with a wide passband, utilizing multisectional branch lines. In addition, the proposed method makes it possible to reduce the internal impedance levels of branch-line couplers so they may be physically constructed by microstrip lines. Further, in terms of measured results, there is a wide bandwidth >70%. Synthesis of the 3-dB branch-line coupler is described in details as well. Good agreement between theoretical calculation and measurement validates the proposed method.

29 Aug 2007TL;DR: In this article, a battery management system that estimates an internal impedance of a battery, a method of driving the same, a device that estimates a battery's internal impedance, and a method for estimating the internal impedance in a battery including a plurality of cells is presented.
Abstract: A battery management system that estimates an internal impedance of a battery, a method of driving the same, a device that estimates an internal impedance of a battery, and a method of estimating the internal impedance of a battery. A method of driving a battery management system that estimates the internal impedance of a battery including a plurality of cells includes generating a battery equivalent model of the battery, receiving a terminal voltage signal and a charge and discharge current signal of the battery, and generating a first discrete signal corresponding to the terminal voltage signal of the battery and a second discrete signal corresponding to the charge and discharge current signal of the battery, and filtering the first discrete signal and the second discrete signal according to a frequency range corresponding to the battery equivalent model so as to estimate the internal impedance of the battery. The device that estimates an internal impedance of a battery filters the first discrete signal and the second discrete signal according to a frequency range corresponding to the battery equivalent model so as to estimate the internal impedance of the battery.

11 Mar 1993TL;DR: In this paper, an active load applied to the gate transmission line termination of distributed power devices reduces the low frequency noise power appearing at the output of the device, including at least one active device such as a field effect transistor.
Abstract: An active load applied to the gate transmission line termination of distributed power devices reduces the low frequency noise power appearing at the output of the device. The active load, including at least one active device such as a field effect transistor, operates by transforming the input impedance of a low noise amplifier to the desired load impedance. The active load is connected to one end of an input transmission line having a plurality of impedances connected in electrical series. An input terminal is connected to the opposite end. An output transmission line, also having a plurality of impedances connected in series, has an output terminal at one end and a terminating output impedance at the other. A plurality of active devices are connected to junction points between the series connected impedances of the input and output lines.

21 Nov 2002TL;DR: In this article, a matching circuit is a product matching circuit that is produced based on a circuit constant of an adjusting matching circuit, which is disposed between the radio frequency generator and the plasma processing chamber for a required plasma treatment.
Abstract: A plasma processing apparatus includes a radio frequency generator, a plasma processing chamber, a matching circuit for impedance matching between the radio frequency generator and the plasma processing chamber, and matching circuit adjusting means for matching the output impedance of the matching circuit to the impedance of the plasma processing chamber in a nondischarge state. The matching circuit is a product matching circuit that is produced based on a circuit constant of an adjusting matching circuit. The adjusting matching circuit is disposed between the radio frequency generator and the plasma processing chamber for a required plasma treatment and the circuit constant is determined by impedance matching between the radio frequency generator and the plasma processing chamber so that the adjusting matching circuit matches the load impedance of the plasma processing chamber.
