TL;DR: In this paper, a lead frame for a surface mount semiconductor chip package includes a die attach paddle and leads, with down bond attachment sites on an upper surface of the paddle near a peripheral margin.
Abstract: A lead frame for a surface mount semiconductor chip package includes a die attach paddle and leads, the die attach paddle having down bond attachment sites on an upper surface of the paddle near a peripheral margin of the paddle, and having a central die attach region on an upper surface of the paddle, wherein a portion of the upper surface of the paddle is recessed. In some embodiments the recessed portion of the upper surface of the paddle includes the die attach region, and in other embodiments the recessed portion of the upper surface of the paddle includes a groove. Also, a lead frame surface mount chip package including such a lead frame.

TL;DR: In this article, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) consisting of an upper body part, a middle body part and a lower body part is described, where the upper body is composed of at least one machine arm, each paddle is attached to the corresponding machine arm through a corresponding motor.
Abstract: The invention relates to an unmanned aerial vehicle which comprises an upper body part, a middle body part and a lower body part, wherein the upper body part is composed of at least one machine arm; at least one paddle is arranged on each machine arm; each paddle is connected to the corresponding machine arm through a corresponding motor; the middle body part is composed of a damping component; the lower body part is composed of a casing; and a controlling component which is connected with the motors are arranged in the casing and is used for controlling the motors to drive the corresponding paddles to rotate. The unmanned aerial vehicle is in a new unmanned aircraft layout manner, and breaks the conventional flight attitude of the unmanned aerial vehicle. According to the unmanned aerial vehicle, vibration generated by the upper body part can be greatly weakened and even to zero through the damping component of the middle body part, and thus flight is more balance.

TL;DR: In this article, a positive drill bit guidance mechanism was proposed for well drilling operations, which includes a control arm or paddle which pivots to steer the drill bit towards its target area.
Abstract: The invention disclosed herein provides a mechanism and method for positive drill bit guidance during well drilling operations. The guidance device includes a control arm or paddle which, due to hydraulic pressure, pivots to steer the drill bit towards its target area. As the paddle applies pressure to the wall of the well, the drill bit is then turned from the contacted area of the well wall in the desired direction.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new design for the die-paddle that is used as part of a package for packaging semiconductor devices is presented, which creates a space between the ground ring of the diepaddle and the surface over which the ground paddle is mounted.
Abstract: A new design is provided for the die-paddle that is used as part of a package for packaging semiconductor devices. The new design of the invention creates a space between the ground ring of the die-paddle and the surface over which the ground paddle is mounted. The new design further comprises an S-shaped segment between the ground ring and the center of the die-paddle, the S-shaped segment provides stress relieve between the ground ring and the center of the die-paddle.

TL;DR: The haptic paddle as discussed by the authors is a low-cost, single-axis force-feedback joystick that can be used in the laboratory component of an undergraduate course on dynamic systems, where students not only learned to model and analyze dynamic systems but they also felt the effects of viscous damping, stiffness, and inertia.
Abstract: As an innovative approach to providing physical demonstrations in the engineering classroom, we present the haptic paddle: a low-cost, single-axis force-feedback joystick. Using the paddle in the laboratory component of an undergraduate course on dynamic systems, students not only learned to model and analyze dynamic systems, but they also felt the effects of phenomena such as viscous damping, stiffness, and inertia. By interacting with virtual environments using their sense of touch, students improved their understanding of dynamic systems, modeling and control. In addition, the paddles added entertainment and excitement to the course. In this paper, we describe the purpose and design of the haptic paddle, show examples of how the paddle was integrated into the course, and present the results of preliminary student evaluations.
