TL;DR: In this article, a closed medical specimen test jar with an agar paddle attached to the closure includes a threaded closure ring and a separate, connected but freely rotatable sealing gasket on the underside of the ring.
Abstract: A closure for a medical specimen test jar includes a threaded closure ring and a separate, connected but freely rotatable sealing gasket on the underside of the ring. An agar paddle is secured to the closure via the gasket at the inside of the closure ring, the gasket material being relatively rigid, and the connection with the agar paddle being such as to retain the agar paddle securely. A matrix of posts is included on each side of the agar paddle, and in the production of the paddle the posts and a perimeter rim around each side of the agar paddle are staked down by heat and pressure to form overhanging flanges on the posts and an undercut rim which serve to retain the flexible agar mass in place on the test paddle. At the center of the closure is a needle-penetrable septum for receiving injection of blood or other specimens. The closure retains a vacuum in the medical specimen jar and still allows removal of the closure without requiring excessive twisting force, by use of the two-piece assembly, which eliminates the need to overcome static friction of the gasket on the container finish while unscrewing the closure ring.

TL;DR: In this article, the paddle blades are hinged/pressed by the pressure of the kinetic energy in a half circle rotation against the respective carrier frame, thus they are power effective.
Abstract: The paddle blades (3) are located in such a way that their juxtapositions are arranged, e.g. across hinge connections, in the region of the outer ends of the frames (2) so that the swinging in or out of the paddle blades towards or away from the axis (1) is facilitated. In the swung out position no energy is taken. The paddle blades are hinged/pressed by the pressure of the kinetic energy in a half circle rotation against the respective carrier frame (2), thus they are power effective. In the other half circle rotation (opposite half circle), they swing out in the centrifugal direction of the kinetic energy so that with opened carrier frames the blades are not power effective, namely, corresp. opposite running forces are minimised. ADVANTAGE - Cost effective utilisation of kinetic wind and water energy. Any size of system can be incorporated in different machines. Wide environmentally friendly application. Can be coupled to generator to produce electrical power.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe an oscillator for oscillatory angular motion about a generally vertical axis in a hopper assembly with a crank arm mounted on the same axis and in a fixed angular relationship with the paddle.
Abstract: A device for packing or compressing refuse material into a container, which my be mounted on a vehicle or installed at a fixed site. The device includes a paddle mounted for oscillatory angular motion about a generally vertical axis in a hopper assembly. The paddle is oscillated by a crank arm mounted on the same axis and in a fixed angular relationship with the paddle. The crank arm, in turn, is driven by a pair of extensible devices, such as hydraulic cylinders, which are pivotally coupled to the crank arm and pivotally anchored by their other ends to selected points on the hopper frame. The selection of anchor points for the hydraulic cylinders assures that they act in unison over much of the range of oscillatory motion of the paddle, compressing the refuse repeatedly on alternate sides of the container. In one version of the device, the crank arm and the paddle are aligned in identical angular orientations and the cylinders push in unison to compress the refuse. In another disclosed embodiment, the crank arm and the paddle are aligned in diametrically opposite directions and the cylinders push in unison to compress the refuse.
