TL;DR: In this paper, an emergency paddle kit for sailboards is described, which consists of at least one shaft which has a paddle blade attached to one end, which shaft is releasably attached to the boom of a sailboard.
Abstract: An emergency paddle kit for sailboards is disclosed. The kit comprises at least one shaft which has a paddle blade attached to one end, which shaft is releasably attached to the boom of a sailboard. When the sail of the sailboard is not used to propel the sailboard through the water, the shaft may be released from the boom and the paddle may be used to propel the sailboard through the water. The emergency kit may further comprise a second shaft which has a second paddle blade attached to one end, which second shaft is also releasably attached to the boom of the sailboard. The first and second shafts may be connected together to form a kayak-type paddle which may then be utilized to propel the sailboard through the water. The emergency kit may further comprise a number of attachments, such as shaft extensions and a paddle handle which may be attached to the shaft and/or to each other.

TL;DR: An improved paddle design for use on the beater mechanism of a manure spreader enables the spreader to satisfactoriloy handle a broader range of manure consistencies and to distribute the same over a more uniform and wide spread pattern as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: An improved paddle design for use on the beater mechanism of a manure spreader enables the spreader to satisfactoriloy handle a broader range of manure consistencies and to distribute the same over a more uniform and wide spread pattern. The paddle has a dished or cupped shape, is substantially symmetrical about its centerline, and includes a curved main body portion and integrally formed upper engaging and lower mounting portions. The upper portion has a curved shape similar to the main body portion and is inclined inwardly toward the axis of curvature of the main body portion, thus providing a concave working surface. The lower portion presents a planar surface for mounting the paddle on a beater shaft. The paddle, being symmetrical, can be used on either the left or right sides of a spreader.

TL;DR: In this paper, a transparent photoconductor was used to identify the paddle lever of a steering wheel, which can be used to perform blind touch operation almost nearly equivalent to complete blind touch, and the operability was improved.
Abstract: Paddle levers protrude from lower sides of a center pad of a steering wheel into two lower spaces partitioned using a horizontal spoke and a vertical spoke of the steering wheel. The paddle lever is formed of a transparent photoconductor, and a periphery of the paddle lever is illuminated in a rimmed shape. Hence, the paddle lever can be visually recognized easily, and a finger touching the paddle lever can be visually recognized instantaneously. Therefore, operation almost nearly equivalent to complete blind touch operation can be attained, and the operability is improved.

TL;DR: In this paper, a conveyor means for crop gathering equipment is described, which generally comprises a combine header including an elongated platform having an elevated conveyor mean extending upwardly and rearwardly therefrom.
Abstract: A conveyor means for crop gathering equipment is disclosed herein and generally comprises a combine header including an elongated platform having an elevated conveyor means extending upwardly and rearwardly therefrom. A first crop gathering mechanism is movably mounted on the platform between the elevating conveyor means and one of the ends of the platform means. A second crop gathering mechanism is also movably mounted on the platform between the elevating conveyor and the other end of the platform. Each of the crop gathering mechanisms comprise first and second spaced apart sprocket wheels having a chain means extending therearound and therebetween. A plurality of elongated paddle arms are secured at one end thereof to the chain in a spaced apart relationship so that the paddle arms will move along the bottom wall of the platform towards the elevating conveyor means as the chain is driven by its suitable power means. A cam guide means is provided between the elevating conveyor means and the crop gathering mechanism to guide the paddle arms as they move from their conveying position to their return position so that the crop material will be pitched towards the elevating conveyor means. The crop material is pitched tangentially with less altitude than the paddle arms as they rise out of crop material to their return position. Proper chain velocity powering the paddle arms and proper paddle arm construction are provided to change crop material linear direction to round a curve rearwardly for discharge.
