TL;DR: In this article, a UV-C source and an air mover are combined in a single fixture which uses a low intensity UV-c source and a paddle ceiling fan to significantly increase the mixing of the treated with the untreated room air.
Abstract: A ceiling paddle fan fixture for improving the quality of the air in the room and various methods of enhancing room air quality, with particular application in public spaces such as hospitals, health care institutions, dormitories, schools and offices. A UV-C source and an air mover are combined in a single fixture which uses a low intensity UV-C source and a paddle ceiling fan to significantly increase the mixing of the treated with the untreated room air. Sterilization of room air is achieved by the passage of a high volume of air at a relatively slow speed through a relatively low intensity UV-C field.

TL;DR: A medical lead has a generally flat paddle on the distal end of the lead body and an electrode array is provided on the paddle, with the electrode array displaced along the length of the paddle toward the rear end as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A medical lead for electrical stimulation or sensing. The medical lead has a generally flat paddle on the distal end of the lead body. An electrode array is provided on the paddle, with the electrode array displaced along the length of the paddle toward the distal end. Advantages include allowing the electrode array may be advanced into position for electrical stimulation or sensing with the flat paddle extending through connective tissue, such as the ligamentum flavum, thus facilitating repositioning, withdrawal or explanting the medical lead, as well as using the flat features of the paddle to anchor the lead to the connective tissue.

TL;DR: In this article, a center controlled pallet truck includes a power unit located at a forward end of the truck, an operator platform in a central portion of a truck, load carrying forks located at the rear end of a pickup truck, and a steering arm mounted on and extending upwardly from a forward section of the power unit for controlling the direction of travel of the pickup.
Abstract: A center controlled pallet truck includes a power unit located at a forward end of the truck, an operator platform in a central portion of the truck, load carrying forks located at a rear end of the truck, a steering arm mounted on and extending upwardly from a forward section of the power unit for controlling the direction of travel of the truck. A control handle mounted on said steering arm includes twist grips for controlling the speed of both forward and reverse movement of the truck. Each twist grip is provided with a generally horizontally disposed, forward facing paddle located at the outer ends of the twist grips to permit the outside fingers on the hand of an operator to move the paddle either upwardly or downwardly and thus rotate the twist grip with minimum force either while the operator is walking along side or riding on the truck.

TL;DR: In this paper, a lead-under-paddle (LUP) leadframe employs a thermally conductive paddle/heat sink, the top side of which is adhered to an I.C. die with an electrical isolating adhesive.
Abstract: A "lead-under-paddle" (LUP) leadframe employs a thermally conductive paddle/heat sink, the top side of which is adhered to an I.C. die with a thermally conductive adhesive. The inner portions of an I.C. package's leads extend along and are attached to the bottom side of the paddle with a thermally conductive and electrically isolating adhesive. Heat generated by the die is conducted to the leads and out of the package via the paddle/heat sink. The leads are in close contact with the paddle and die, reducing the leadframe's thermal resistance, increasing the amount of power that can be consumed by the die, and enabling a standard I.C. package to accommodate a paddle and die having larger respective surface areas.

Abstract: The invention includes an apparatus to automatically heat and froth milk for beverages. The apparatus includes a container, a lower paddle group and upper paddle group located above the container bottom. Each paddle group includes at least two paddles. The lower paddle group is adapted to rotate in a direction that is counter to the rotation of the upper paddle group. The apparatus further includes a heater disposed firmly against and below the container bottom.
