TL;DR: A paddle for use with a hand and forearm of a user is described in this article, where a support for the wrist extends from the paddle blade to a point near a user's elbow, with an opening in the support through which a user inserts a hand.
Abstract: A paddle for use with a hand and forearm of a user is provided. The paddle has a paddle blade of a length shorter than its width, and generally encompasses an area approximating the span of the hand of a user. A support which provides support for the wrist extends from the paddle blade to a point near a user's elbow, with an opening in the support through which a user inserts a hand. A cover surrounds the hand and secures the paddle blade to the user's hand. As such, the user may rest an opened hand against the blade while using the paddle.

TL;DR: Improved paddle mixer as mentioned in this paper includes a stationary drum solid to a support frame, with a vertical shaft engaged with a motor-reducer unit and provided with a plurality of transverse arms to each of which at least a paddle is fixedly or otherwise rotatively connected.
Abstract: Improved paddle mixer, including a stationary drum solid to a support frame, with a vertical shaft engaged with a motor-reducer unit and provided with a plurality of transverse arms to each of which at least a paddle is fixedly or otherwise rotatively connected, wherein each of the paddles, being fixed with respect to the relevant support arms, is made up of two like plates disposed at the free end of the corresponding arm and between which a rubber element is interposed so that, by the rotation of the shaft, that is, during the blending of the materials introduced inside the drum, the rubber element provides for scraping the side or respectively bottom wall of the drum.

TL;DR: In this paper, a product stacker is provided for simultaneously receiving, stacking and moving a three line series of flat-shaped products, which share common, pneumatically rotated, pivot rods.
Abstract: A compact product stacker is provided for simultaneously receiving, stacking and moving a three line series of flat-shaped products. The stacker utilizes product support paddle combinations which share common, pneumatically rotated, pivot rods. The product support paddle combinations are adjustable to a downward sloping orientation, allowing gravity to assist in moving the product from an upper conveyor to the top surface of the product support paddles, at low speeds. The product support paddle combinations and pivot rods are positioned to minimize the number of required parts, to allow the lines of product to be closer together, and to minimize the width and depth of the overall device. A product alignment feature is also provided which delays the downward movement of the paddles until all products have reached their proper positions on their respective product support paddle combinations.

TL;DR: In this article, a sheet discharging device has a conveying weight for pressing a conveyed sheet to a caterpillar belt, which can reliably convey a wide variety of sheets onto a tray and transferring the conveyed sheets to a predetermined tray position.
Abstract: A sheet discharging device has a conveying weight for pressing a conveyed sheet to a caterpillar belt. The pressing force of the weight is increased both when the sheet is discharged from the caterpillar belt to a placement tray, and when the sheet is switched back and conveyed to the bottom of the caterpillar belt. The pressing force of the weight is increased concurrently with the driving of a paddle provided at an outlet of the placement tray. The pressing force is increased by a rubber piece provided on a paddle driving shaft that rotates out of phase with the paddle, so as to engage and press the conveying weight at a predetermined time. The device is capable of reliably conveying a wide variety of sheets onto a tray and transferring the conveyed sheets to a predetermined tray position.

TL;DR: In this article, the speed of the paddle wheel drive shaft and the height of the drive shaft from the stack were controlled to equalize the resulting pressure to a continuous fixed pressure throughout this stacking operation.
Abstract: A finishing-compiling station or structure is disclosed where marked copies of paper or other media are transported into a compiling tray for paper registration by paddle wheels or other such deflection loaded compiler drive elements. These sheets of paper after registration are then processed and finished as desired. The pressure applied by the paddle wheels is substantially constant where as prior art pressures varied depending upon the height of the paper stack. A sensor and appropriate software controller gauges the speed of the paddle wheel drive shaft and controls the height of the drive shaft from the stack and thereby equalizes the resulting pressure to a continuous fixed pressure throughout this stacking operation.
