06 Apr 2005TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for managing a cable in a server system is presented, which includes a first paddle card coupled to a first end of the cable and a first light emitting diode (LED) coupled to the second paddle card.
Abstract: A system and method for managing a cable in a server system. The system includes a first paddle card coupled to a first end of the cable and a first light emitting diode (LED) coupled to the first paddle card. The first LED turns on to facilitate a user in locating the first end of the cable. The system also includes a second paddle card coupled to a second end of the cable and a second LED coupled to the second paddle card. The second LED turns on to facilitate the user in locating the second end of the cable. As a result, the ends of the cable can be conveniently and reliably located in a server system having multiple identical cables.

11 Aug 2004TL;DR: In this article, an impact beam is affixed to the door structure and a paddle member integrally formed there with the impact beam and the paddle member are laterally aligned with a compliant target through the opening in the inner member.
Abstract: A vehicle door structure includes an outer member, and an inner member spaced apart from the outer member and having structure forming an opening therein. An impact beam is affixed to the door structure and has a paddle member integrally formed therewith. The impact beam and the paddle member are laterally aligned with a compliant target through the opening in the inner member. Upon a lateral impact, the impact beam and paddle member move together toward the target, pushing the target inboard of the impact.

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-visual ball and paddle game is played through the medium of sound, where ball location, paddle position and playing field are defined by variations of volume, tone, pitch, frequency and stereo separation.
Abstract: A non-visual ball and paddle game played through the medium of sound. Ball location, paddle position and playing field are defined by variations of volume, tone, pitch, frequency and stereo separation by means of stereo earphones worn by each player.

TL;DR: In this paper, a movable sealing device for a telescopic full-revolving rudder paddle is presented. But the sealing performance of the rudder is not improved. And the service life is not extended.
Abstract: The invention relates to a seawater-proof movable sealing device of ocean engineering equipment, in particular to a movable sealing device for a telescopic full-revolving rudder paddle, which is used on an ocean engineering boat and an ocean platform. The sealing performance of the telescopic full-revolving rudder paddle is ensured through four measures of a guide sleeve guide and filth clearing protection measure, a packing sealing measure, a lip-type sealing ring sealing measure and a lubrication and leakage check measure, through the efficient lubrication and the leakage check measure, the movable sealing device of the telescopic full-revolving rudder paddle is in an efficient controllable state in seawater, the work safety of the sealing device is improved, and the service life of the telescopic full-revolving rudder paddle is prolonged by more than 50 percent.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have fabricated suspended metal paddle resonators with carbon nanotubes functioning as self-detecting torsional springs and observed gate-tunable resonances that either tune to higher or to lower frequencies when increasing the dc voltage on the back gate.
Abstract: We have fabricated suspended metal paddle resonators with carbon nanotubes functioning as self-detecting torsional springs. We observe gate-tunable resonances that either tune to higher or to lower frequencies when increasing the dc voltage on the back gate. We attribute the former modes to flexural vibrations of the paddle resonator, while the latter ones are identified as torsional vibrations. Compared to top-down silicon fabricated paddle resonators, nanotube springs have smaller torsional spring constants and provide a larger frequency tunability.
