TL;DR: A page printing system in which high level encoded page layout information is processed to form a printed page is described in this paper, where an image processor (3) operates to form page image data, at a variable rate, during a processing time.
Abstract: A page printing system in which high level encoded page layout information is processed to form a printed page. An image processor (3) operates to form page image data, at a variable rate, during a processing time. A window buffer (16-2) is filled at the rate at which the image processor processes (3) the page layout information. The rate at which the window buffer (16-2) is emptied, to supply page image data to a printing device (4), is determined by the rate of printing of the printing device (4). The printer (4), operating at a preestablished printing rate, prints the printed page during a printing time. The variable rate of the image processor (3) is determined such that the duration of the processing time does not exceed the duration of the printing time.

TL;DR: The field application of the PLA is described to the development of a procedure training aid for the SH-3D/H Helicopter as part of the TAEG development effort to provide tools for the design and publication of training aids.
Abstract: : The rapid introduction of increasingly complex military equipment has resulted in a major requirement for the timely development of more effective materials to train personnel in the performance of operation and maintenance procedures The Training Analysis and Evaluation Group (TAEG) of the Naval Training Equipment Center has developed a learning format which increases the efficiency with which procedures are taught This format relies heavily on graphics and uses words where necessary to clarify the meaning of the graphics While documents based on the format are highly successful as procedure training aids and job performance aids these documents are expensive and time consuming to design and produce The TAEG has responded to this problem by developing the computer automated page layout system, which significantly reduces the time and effort required to produce text-graphic materials The Computer Automated Page Layout (PLA) for Text-Graphic Materials User's Guide provides the subject matter expert an independent means to learn to use these computer routines to design and produce training aids This report describes the field application of the PLA to the development of a procedure training aid for the SH-3D/H Helicopter The demonstration is part of the TAEG development effort to provide tools for the design and publication of training aids

TL;DR: In this article, a circuit design is completed, a design information file is formed based on the design and the contents of the file are read as data, and then, a layout design which determines the arrangement and connecting pattern of each circuit element is performed by a computer.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform a pattern design which is required when a circuit design is changed, in a short time, by performing the layout design only on parts related to the design change and using old data as pattern design data as it is. CONSTITUTION:When a circuit design 1 is completed, a design information file 2 is formed based on the design and the contents of the design information file are read as data, and then, a layout design 3 which determines the arrangement and connecting pattern of each circuit element is performed by a computer. When the layout design is completed, the information is stored in a pattern design file 4. The data in the pattern design file directly corresponds to an actually manufactured printed substrate, and, when a different printed substrate is to be manufactured, different data is prepared.

TL;DR: Device and CPU independent S/W exist that can be cost effectively integrated into a single system that will significantly aid in the production of technical publications.
Abstract: Production of technical publications must always overcome cost and time limitations. Device and CPU independent S/W exist that can be cost effectively integrated into a single system that will significantly aid in the production of technical publications.
