TL;DR: Ever since the very beginning of serious work in the field (at least since McDonald's Ph.D. work [McDonald 80]), a widely supported view of the natural language generation process is that it involves decision making under constraints: constraints imposed by the context of language production, and by the linguistic resources available to the language producer.
Abstract: Ever since the very beginning of serious work in the field (at least since McDonald's Ph.D. work [McDonald 80]), a widely supported view of the natural language generation process is that it involves decision making under constraints: constraints imposed by the context of language production, and by the linguistic resources available to the language producer. Who could disagree? But, very surprisingly, this view is rarely taken to its logical conclusion. There have been a few pieces of research that have looked at the computer production of language in time-limited situations, with the effects this has on what can be said and how it can be said (see, for example, Hovy's Ph.D. work [Hovy 88], or some of the work now being carried out by Jean Carletta and Richard Caley at Edinburgh); but no current research takes account of the physical manifestation of the written word, and the constraints imposed by the medium of communication. There is research in multimedia generation that has started to address the apportioning of information between the graphical and the linguistic, and how the two interact asking questions, for example, such as how forms of reference are affected when a picture is part of the message conveyed (as reported in the papers of Reithinger and Claassen in this volume). But, strangely, the result is still 'disembodied' text generators which take no real account of issues such as page layout and the use of space. We don't have a theory of these things let's refer to them collectively as the layout dimension and worse: we don't have a theory of how this layout dimension interacts with the language dimension. But interact they do. Everyone is familiar with the situation: an eight page conference paper to write, and just a few lines of text end up on page nine. You start rewording the text to pull those renegades onto the previous page, looking for paragraphs which end in a line containing only one word; or you turn information presented in a bulleted list into body text, with appropriate use of punctuation marks to indicate the rhetorical structure previously carried by the layout. With a modern text processing system, and modulo some liberal interpretation of the layout guidelines, you have other alternatives: the line spacing can be changed, the column width changed, or the point size of the references reduced a little. All these possibilities interact; they are raw materials that copy-writers and graphic designers have been playing with for years. The layout is a resource just as the language itself is.

TL;DR: In this article, an HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) form processing method based on a two-dimensional matrix and a computer is described. And the method comprises the steps of: analyzing corresponding rows and lines of an HTML form; structuring a 2D array, and storing table cells determined by means of the rows at corresponding positions in the 2D matrix; and selecting the table cells and performing corresponding operation.
Abstract: The invention relates to an HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) form processing method based on a two-dimensional matrix and a computer. The method comprises the steps of: analyzing corresponding rows and lines of an HTML form; structuring a two-dimensional array, and storing table cells determined by means of the rows and lines at corresponding positions in the two-dimensional array; and selecting the table cells and performing corresponding operation. According to the HTML form processing method based on the two-dimensional matrix and the computer for implementing the method, provided by the invention, the form is structured into the two-dimensional array of the two-dimensional matrix, the HTML form is operated by utilizing javascript (on the aspects of adding or deleting rows, adding or deleting lines, merging the table cells, splitting the table cells and the like), so that a Web-based form designer with the effect of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) is realized, a third-party tool is not needed for establishing and arranging a page, a page layout can be adjusted as required and is in accordance with an application specification, and the establishment process of the page can be restrained or specified according to specific applications.

TL;DR: LIDO as discussed by the authors is a MEMS physical design system that supports this concurrent design strategy by providing tools to easily configure appropriate process sequences, to derive consistent sets of geometric layout design rules from them and to use these design rules to verify mask layouts.
Abstract: The physical phases of microsystem design are concerned with generating all data needed to fabricate microstructures. As lithography-based technologies are used to fabricate MEMS, this includes the design of two-dimensional mask layouts as well as the design of process step sequences and parameters which determine the object extensions in the third dimension. LIDO is a MEMS physical design system that supports this concurrent design strategy by providing tools to easily configure appropriate process sequences, to derive consistent sets of geometric layout design rules from them and to use these design rules to verify mask layouts.

TL;DR: In this paper, a realization method of page layout autokinetic effect under the browser in a net TV embedding type is proposed. But the method is not suitable for web browsing.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a realization method of page layout autokinetic effect under the browser in a net TV embedding type The steps comprise: defining the trigger condition for users motion or page layout position on the pattern plate, when the focus is moving in the page layout, catching the user motion or page layout position through the script function supplied by the embedding type browser, and when the user motion satisfies the trigger condition, exchanging the picture linked with the page layout; or when the page layout position of the focus satisfies the trigger condition, hoding turning page operation The present invention uses IPTV embedding type brower to realize the page layout autokinetic effect When user browses and operates EPG page layout, which makes the EPG page layout can show the autokinetic effect to the user

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a computer process of creating a Moving Electron Beam Exposure System (MEBES) pattern-generation file, that is to be used in the manufacture of integrated-circuit masks, from a technology-independent and semiconductor-process independent layout-design, by transmitting a scaleable and process-independent layout design to a computer, selecting the layers necessary for a particular semiconductor process, and selecting the scale to which the layout design will be converted.
