TL;DR: Simulated annealing algorithm and genetic algorithm proposed and the performance of the two algorithms for solving the single row machine layout problem is evaluated.
Abstract: In this paper layout design in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) is addressed. Optimal design of the physical layout is one of the most important issues that must be solved in early stages of the FMS design. For FMSs, the layout design is even more crucial than in conventional manufacturing systems. Developing a machine layout is an important step in designing manufacturing facilities due to the impact of the material handling cost and time, on throughput, and on productivity of the facility. A layout type that has been extensively implemented in FMSs is the single row machine layout. In this paper simulated annealing algorithm and genetic algorithm proposed and the performance of the two algorithms for solving the single row machine layout problem is evaluated

TL;DR: In this paper, a business data display method is proposed to reduce the foreground coding complexity of the user side and improve the flexibility of the processing logics of the data display page.
Abstract: The invention discloses a business data display method, which belongs to the technical field of data display. The business data display method comprises the following steps: according to a business data display request of a user side, obtaining multiterm visualization metadata used for indicating the page layout and the data filling requirement of a corresponding display page; according to the business data display request, obtaining corresponding business data from a background database, and converting the business data into the multiterm visualization data which can fill the display page; combining the visualization metadata to construct and form a page frame associated with the display page; filling a page frame with the visualization data, binding the corresponding visualization metadata corresponding to each piece of visualization data to form the display page which can be accessed; and providing a data access interface for the user side. The technical scheme has the beneficial effects that the foreground coding complexity of the user side is lowered, the flexibility of the processing logics of the data display page is improved, and a workload for a developer to maintain foreground codes is lightened.

TL;DR: In this paper, a heuristic, analytical model is developed to integrate the work in process storage space allocation and block layout planning steps of the facility design process, which is applicable when identical unit loads are transported by a discrete materials handling system.
Abstract: A heuristic, analytical model is developed to integrate the work in process storage space allocation and block layout planning steps of the facility design process. The model is applicable when identical unit loads are transported by a discrete materials handling system. The model is applied in the context of a ‘CRAFT like’ procedure where the user can reallocate storage space between departments on successive iterations while simultaneously considering materials handling volume distance and dynamically changing storage requirements. The scope of model inputs includes the layout, materials handling system attributes and production parameters. It is shown that the analytical nature of the model and scope of model inputs also allow the user to investigate significantly different production scenarios and materials handling system designs in layout planning. As a result, the model provides greater modelling flexibility than simulation and Petri net modelling in supporting sensitivity analyses in layout design...

TL;DR: Experiments show that the proposed MOEA/D based approach is able to get satisfactory Pareto solutions with lower patients' flow cost and the closeness compared to the original layout, and that the optimized layouts decrease the patients' move time, thereby improving quality of service.
Abstract: Although there exist numerous literatures on facility layout in manufacturing systems, studies on department layout in hospitals are relatively scarce. In this paper, we proposed a MOEA/D based approach for a hospital department layout problem, where three objectives are simultaneously optimized, namely patient flow cost, the closeness of departments and rearrangement cost. A constraint handling technology is introduced to deal with infeasible solutions. Experiments show that the proposed approach is able to get satisfactory Pareto solutions with lower patients' flow cost and the closeness compared to the original layout, and that the optimized layouts decrease the patients' move time, thereby improving quality of service.
