TL;DR: A two-stage inter-cell layout optimization approach by using one of the popular meta-heuristics — the Ant Colony Optimization algorithm to improve the solution obtained at previous stage is developed.
Abstract: Facility layout planning plays an important role in the manufacturing process and seriously impacts a company's profitability A well-planned layout can significantly reduce the total material handling cost The purpose of this paper is to develop a two-stage inter-cell layout optimization approach by using one of the popular meta-heuristics — the Ant Colony Optimization algorithm At the first stage, the cells are formed based on the part-machine clustering results obtained through the ant system algorithm In other words, we get the initial inter-cell layout after this stage The work at the second stage uses a hybrid ant system algorithm to improve the solution obtained at previous stage Different performance measures are also employed in this paper to evaluate the results.

TL;DR: This thesis describes a knowledge-based system for automatically synthesizing integrated circuit layouts for NMOS cells by relying on large amounts of domain knowledge in rule form to generate plan steps at different levels of abstraction and refining each plan step at one level to more specific steps at a lower level.
Abstract: This thesis describes a knowledge-based system for automatically synthesizing integrated circuit layouts for NMOS cells. The desired cell layouts are specified in terms of their general structural and functional characteristics. From these initial specifications, the system produces correct and compact cell layouts. The system performs this task by relying on large amounts of domain knowledge in rule form to generate plan steps at different levels of abstraction and refining each plan step at one level to more specific steps at a lower level. The underlying problem-solving architecture for the planning process is based on extensive analysis of the design state to identify instances of familiar design situations. For each design situation, the system develops a subplan at a more detailed level. Once subplans are developed for all of the design situations at one abstraction level, they are merged to check for technology specific design opportunities as well as inconsistencies. The explicit representation of design situations provide a language upon which the system's knowledge base can operate and results in more robust system. The knowledge base of the system is implemented in OPS5. Although the implementation of this system has focused on NMOS technology, the techniques used are not restricted to that technology.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper designed and extracted the position character of object linear order number according to writing rules on ancient books, page layout number and page layout composed of geometrical coordinates of objects on the page, and configuration character of strokes factor accumulative total value on divisional area with multilevel of center of gravity.
Abstract: The invention relates to computer content retrieval method and retrieval system for ancient books based on vision similarity. The following characters are designed and extracted. (1) Position character of object linear order number according to writing rules on ancient books. (2) The page layout number and character of page layout composed of geometrical coordinates of objects on the page. (3) The configuration character of strokes factor accumulative total value on divisional area with multilevel of center of gravity as well as extracting technique. Some new techniques as developed as follows. (1) The labelling method to search an arbitrary retrieval point and restricting vertification technique for increasing match precision are developed. (2) A method is created that allows a searcher keeping balance between recall ratio and precision ratio by using control parameter of match precision in retrievel phase. (3) Dynamic adjust method is realized that is able to instantly select objectconfiguration or mapped object lexeme. The invention optimally combines image processing, indexing in character space with multi dimensions, and above-mentioned techniques to realize Chinese ancient books digitizing and content retrieval system with integral software and hardware, by adopting general computer and relevant peripheral equipment. The technical effect of computer retrievel with arbitr

TL;DR: In this article, a Web layout mining system is proposed to mine the most popular web-layouts from the Internet database and design a web-layout that is near to acceptable and have all the marks and features of modern requirements.
Abstract: The problem in designing of modern Website projects is to produce contents according to the latest trends and styles. The common Website editors just help to draw the intended layouts but the problem is to design the accurate Web layout according to the demand and latest trends and style. This approach is useful when the user has a specific layout already in mind and is familiar with the Web page layout principles as to what kinds of layouts are possible. It is intrinsically difficult for particularly those who have limited artistic and creative abilities to design good layout from scratch which is acceptable in every respect. An automated system is required that has ability to mine the layouts of the desired type of Websites. The designed system for "Web layout mining (WLM)" helps to mine the most popular web-layouts from the Internet database and design a Web-layout that is near to acceptable and have all the marks and features of modern requirements. The designed system actually bases on a rule based algorithm which helps the user to search out some samples related to his Website category and afterwards the user himself chooses a desired Web-layout and designs its own one with proper implications and variations according to his own requirements.

TL;DR: This paper presents a new single event upset tolerant flip-flop design by applying the hardening technique on DICE at the layout level, an alternative to existing Layout Design through Error-Aware Transistor Positioning (LEAP) and re-places transistors in master and slave DICE latches in the zigzag fashion in the layout.
Abstract: The DICE flip-flop has been rendered ineffective in deep-submicron technology nodes (e.g. 65 nm and 28 nm) due to charge sharing when exposed to single event strikes. This paper presents a new single event upset tolerant flip-flop design by applying the hardening technique on DICE at the layout level. This approach is an alternative to existing Layout Design through Error-Aware Transistor Positioning (LEAP); it also re-places transistors in master and slave DICE latches in the zigzag fashion in the layout. Both computer simulations and heavy-ion experimental results demonstrate that our proposed layout design has no single event upset errors under normal strikes until LET = 37 MeV·cm2/mg compared to the traditional DICE structure.
