13 Jul 2009TL;DR: In this paper, a simulation model structure is introduced as a quick and easy layout creation and evaluation method to be used in the process of exhibition layout planning and improvement, which can be used for analyzing the system as precisely as possible to comprehend the weak points, observe the effects of changes on the system, and to increase efficiency in design.
Abstract: Proper planning of layout plays a crucial role in the visitor satisfaction and effectiveness of the operations in design of an exhibition center. Exhibition layout design often incorporates complexity, since it involves many distinct variables like visitor attention, motivation, line of sight, number of guides, time spent on an exhibited object; or guided routes. In order to assure the success of such a decision, dynamics of the system, visitors' behavior, and the effects of a change on the layout configuration should be very well understood. Simulation might be a very useful tool for such layout evaluations with its success of analyzing the system as precisely as possible to comprehend the weak points, to observe the effects of changes on the system, and to increase efficiency in design. This paper introduces a simulation model structure as a quick and easy layout creation and evaluation method to be used in the process of exhibition layout planning and improvement.

TL;DR: The proposed Knowledge-Based System KBS for automation of strip-layout design of sheet metal parts produced on progressive deep drawing dies is flexible, user-interactive and its low cost of implementation makes it affordable for small and medium scale sheet metal industries.
Abstract: Strip-layout design is one of the most critical steps in the design of progressive deep drawing die. It is a skilled and experienced-based activity. This paper presents a Knowledge-Based System KBS for automation of strip-layout design of sheet metal parts produced on progressive deep drawing dies. The proposed system is developed using production rule-based KBS approach of artificial intelligence AI. It comprises eight modules to impart recommendations to the user for selection of proper size of stock strip, identification and sequencing of operations, selection of proper piloting scheme, and number of stations and staging of operations on progressive deep drawing die. Finally, the system models the blank layout and strip-layout automatically in the drawing editor of AutoCAD. The proposed system is flexible, user-interactive and its low cost of implementation makes it affordable for small and medium scale sheet metal industries.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the page layout method which integrally manages plate formats and signature allotment charts within a computer, can automatically execute the page layout of manuscripts per page in accordance with the data on the plate formats and signature allotment, lessens the manpower of plate making operations, improves the efficiency thereof and eliminates operation errors and its device. CONSTITUTION:This method has a stage 23 for setting the data on machine plate formats by inputting the data necessary for forming one sheet of plate by subjecting the page information for plural pages, such as sequence of the pages to be allotted to the plate, to page layout, a signature allotment setting stage 24 for forming signature allotment data in accordance with at least the data on the number of the total page layouts per print and the data on the number of the page layouts per plate and a machine plate information forming stage 26 for forming the machine plate information necessary for plate making by allotting the previously formed page information in accordance with the data on the machine plate formats and the signature allotment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for achieving multiple-choice of a drop-down list box is proposed, where the multiple choice function is achieved through combination of and labels; the problems that in an existing dropdown box multiple choice mode, since all or most of options are displayed, a lot of page layout space is occupied, and the overall effect of the page is affected are effectively solved.
Abstract: The invention relates to the technical field of software technology development, and particularly relates to a method for achieving multiple-choice of a drop-down list box. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the multiple-choice function of the drop-down box is achieved through combination of and labels; the problems that in an existing drop-down box multiple-choice mode, since all or most of options are displayed, a lot of page layout space is occupied, and the overall effect of the page is affected are effectively solved; the method can be applied to achieve the multiple-choice of the drop-down list box.

TL;DR: A new framework for visual kind of intelligent layout design is presented, where a shape grammar generates possible design solutions while intelligent algorithms control the direction of the solution space exploration.
Abstract: Computer-aided 3D ICs layout design requires efficient search of large and discontinuous spaces and no deterministic algorithms are able to perform such a task. The paper presents a new framework for visual kind of intelligent layout design. In the proposed approach a shape grammar generates possible design solutions while intelligent algorithms control the direction of the solution space exploration. Although the method is not limited to a particular design assignment, the paper focuses on a 3D ICs layout problem to demonstrate its potential.
