TL;DR: In this paper, a page layout is constructed by spatially placing the features in proximity to the screen locations associated therewith, and is rendered within the display area, where the selected features are ranked based on predetermined criteria and each associated with commonly viewed screen locations by comparing the ranking with the ordering.
Abstract: Computer-readable media, computerized methods, and graphical user interfaces (GUI's) for interactively presenting features within the panes of a display area rendered in a GUI workspace are provided. Initially, a computing device memory is inspected to discover a profile that accommodates a user-visual pattern. When the profile is not discovered, a default page layout is retrieved and communicated to the display device for presentation within the display area. If the profile is discovered, commonly viewed screen locations, based upon a frequency of eye fixation upon each of the screen locations, are ordered. Contextually relevant features are selected for presentation within the display area. The selected features are ranked based on predetermined criteria and each associated with the commonly viewed screen locations by comparing the ranking with the ordering. A page layout is constructed by spatially placing the features in proximity to the screen locations associated therewith, and is rendered within the display area.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for converting a layout design for the metallization layer integrated circuit pattern to a reticle design having corrections for depth of focus problems is presented.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for converting a layout design for the metallization layer integrated circuit pattern to a reticle design having corrections for depth of focus problems. The apparatus includes a design rule checker which is configured to identify locations of the layout design which are expected to produce narrowed regions of the image caused by depth of focus variations at intersections between defined line features of the layout design and the elevated portions of the topographical variations. A depth of focus correction unit is included which is adapted to modify the layout design for the metallization integrated circuit pattern at the locations by increasing the line width of the defined line features from the integrated circuit pattern to correct for these depth of focus problems.

TL;DR: This study proposes a soft-computing-based approach to improve the layout process of facilities, using fuzzy set theory and genetic algorithms, to obtain the closeness relationship values between each pair of facilities in a construction site.
Abstract: The layout of temporary facilities in a construction site deals with the selection of their most efficient layout in order to operate efficiently and cost effectively. The layout design seeks the best arrangement of facilities within the available area. In the design process of the layout, many objectives must be considered to effectively utilize people resources, equipment, space, and energy. This study proposes a soft-computing-based approach to improve the layout process of facilities. The main objective is on obtaining the closeness relationship values between each pair of facilities in a construction site. To achieve this, an integrated approach, using fuzzy set theory and genetic algorithms, is used to investigate the layout of temporary facilities in relation with the planned building(s) in a construction site. An example application is presented to illustrate the proposed approach and the results are then discussed along with recommendations for further work. Depending on the importance of relationships among the various facilities in the construction site, this study is expected to provide engineers with an appropriate tool to compare and evaluate different layouts and select the most appropriate and efficient one.

TL;DR: A new photo collection page layout that attempts to maximize page coverage without having photos overlap is presented, using a deterministic procedure that mimics the natural process of adding photos to the layout one by one.
Abstract: This paper presents a new photo collection page layout that attempts to maximize page coverage without having photos overlap. Layout is based on a hierarchical page partition, which provides explicit control over the aspect ratios and relative areas of the photos. We present an efficient method for finding a partition that produces a photo arrangement suitable for the shape of the page. Rather than relying on a stochastic search we employ a deterministic procedure that mimics the natural process of adding photos to the layout one by one.

TL;DR: In this article, a user can edit sub-masters content of selected instances of an electronic layout design, including editing the contents of an existing sub-master of an EDA design, and binding the new submaster to the selected instances without losing the design hierarchy.
Abstract: Systems and methods to enable a user to edit subMaster content of selected instances of an electronic layout design, including editing the contents of selected instances of an existing subMaster of an EDA design, generating a new subMaster to incorporate the modified contents of the selected instances, and binding the new subMaster to the selected instances without losing the design hierarchy of the layout design.
