Abstract: A layout design usable for manufacturing a memory cell includes a first and second active area layout pattern associated with forming a first and second active area, an isolation region outside the first and second active area, a first polysilicon layout pattern associated with forming a first polysilicon structure, a second polysilicon layout pattern associated with forming a second polysilicon structure, a first interconnection layout pattern associated with forming a first interconnection structure, and a second interconnection layout pattern associated with forming a second interconnection structure. The first active area does not overlap the second active area. The first polysilicon layout pattern overlaps the first active area layout pattern. The second polysilicon layout pattern overlaps the first active area layout pattern and the second active area layout pattern. The first interconnection layout pattern overlaps the second active area layout pattern. The second interconnection layout pattern overlaps the isolation region.

Portal generation for industry specific business roles

Abstract: Described is a method for software developers to generate a portal for a business role. The portal includes portlets arranged in a page layout for accessing web based resources. Industry specific information associated with the business role is mapped to web based resources. Portlets for providing data associated with the web based capabilities are identified and assembled in the layout of the portal. The developer can modify the layout and change a portlet associated with a particular capability. The method enables existing knowledge associated with a business role to be integrated into a rapid development tool. Fast portlet development functionality is combined with an automated workplace creation technique. Consequently, software products can be delivered to the marketplace in less time than products generated through traditional software development techniques.

User interface system for composing an image page layout

Abstract: A user interface system supports organization of hierarchies of image elements for incorporation in an XML (or other language) data specification. The system further supports generation of image representative code from the data specification and associated ancillary specifications including label, tool tip, help and history specification data, for example. A user interface system for composing a layout of an image page suitable for display on a display device includes a user interface image generator. The generator provides data representing a displayable image window indicating a hierarchical organization of items representing image elements available to be included in an image page. The hierarchical organization of items links a parent item representing a first image element with a child item representing a second image element to be contained within the first image element. The system also includes a user interface command processor for initiating incorporation of both the first and second image elements in the image page, the second image element being located within the first image element, in response to user selection of corresponding parent and child items in the image window.

Different approaches for the loop layout problems: a review

Abstract: In the manufacturing process, loop layout problems (LLPs) are preferred to configurations like single row layout, double row layout, cluster layout, and circular layout for their relative lower initial investment costs because they contain a minimal number of required material links to connect all workstations while providing a high degree of material handling flexibility. The performance of a system is based on the impact of the loop layout. Most of these LLPs are non-polynomial hard. Numerous research works related to loop layout have been published. The literature analysis given here is not restricted to specific considerations about loop layout design. This paper aims to deal with the current and future trends of research on LLPs based on previous research including formulations, solution methodologies. A trend toward bidirectional assumption, large-sized test problems, mixed integer programming, shortcuts instead of additional loop, loading and waiting time for shortcuts, integration of the supply chain management with the data envelopment analysis and also integrate exact, decomposition algorithm with metaheuristics, and developing loop layout using metaheuristics such as scatter search algorithm, improved tabu search, and artificial bees colony algorithm to loop layout is observed. Several research directions are pointed out and discussed.
