Abstract: This paper presents a methodology that provides a vehicle for the selection and ranking of layout design objectives. Moreover, the same methodology can be used to create a decision matrix to evaluate different alternative layouts under analysis. In this case, the methodology combines the ranking of the layout objectives with the relative performance of each layout alternative along each objective in order to recommend the "best" layout alternative. This structured methodology is based on a decision making tool known as the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). These concepts are illustrated through several case studies taken from actual layout design projects in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus to create a physical layout for electron-beam lithography, comprising defining a layout grid for a physical design, the layout grid further comprising vertical grid lines which coincide with stitching lines resulting from partitioning the physical design into a plurality of subfields. The physical design is assembled in accordance with design restrictions regarding interaction between design shapes and the layout grid. In some embodiments, the design restrictions are realized though layout restrictions. In some embodiments, the design restrictions are realized by shifting standard cells to minimize design shape interaction with the layout grid in a post-layout step. In some embodiments, the design restrictions are realized by exchanging positions between a plurality of standard cells for an exchange permutation which minimizes the number of interactions in a post-layout step. In some embodiments a routing grid is refined to rule out interactions between a subset of design constructs and the layout grid. Remaining design shape placement is then optimized along the routing grid relative to the stitching lines.

Abstract: The invention provides an automatic layout method and device of flexible cables and relates to the technical field of mechanical engineering. By adoption of the automatic layout method and device, the difficulty that the automatic layout design of large quantity of cables is not easily realized in the prior art is solved. The automatic layout method comprises the following steps of: acquiring information of cable bundles; acquiring position information of first ends of the cables and position information of second ends of the cables; acquiring cable paths according to the information of the cable bundles, the position information of the first ends and the position information of the second ends. The automatic layout method and device provided by the invention have the advantages that automatic generation of the flexible cables on a three-dimensional model of a complex product can be realized, and the design efficiency and the quality of the cable layout are effectively improved.

Abstract: When multiple pages of a document are condensed and printed on a single sheet of printing media, an image data generator condenses the page image data by a prescribed reduction ratio. A sequence information overlayer overlays layout sequence information such as numerals or arrows, or borders or shading of different densities or colors, on the condensed image data. A recording device prints the condensed image data and overlaid sequence information on the single sheet of printing media. The reader of the condensed document recognizes the condensed page sequence from the overlaid sequence information, and can therefore always tell which page to read next. A print sample image of the single sheet preferably includes a sequence line graphically illustrating the page layout sequence.
