TL;DR: In this paper, a solution processible blend of 6,13-bis(triisopropyl silylethynyl) pentacene and a poly(triaryl amine) was used to combine the favorable properties of small molecules and polymers.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of octadecyltrimethoxysilane (OTMS) interlayer with gate dielectric surface modification on the field effect mobility of OTFTs has been examined.
Abstract: Organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) based on pentacene semiconductor are elaborated on the plastic substrates through a four-level mask process without photolithographic patterning to yield a simple fabrication process. Octadecyltrimethoxysilane (OTMS) as an organic molecule for self-assembled monolayers is deposited on the surface of zirconium oxide dielectric layer. The effect of OTMS interlayer with gate dielectric surface modification on the field effect mobility of OTFTs has been examined and these prototype organic transistors showed excellent electrical characteristics with field effect mobility >0.66cm2∕Vs and Ion∕Ioff>10.5

TL;DR: In this paper, the vibronic spectra of the large organic molecules tetracene (C18H12), pentacene(C24H14), base-free porphin (C20H14N4), and base- free phthalocyanine (C32H18N8) were investigated in large (N≈ 103-104)======4He droplets using laser induced fluorescence.
Abstract: The vibronic spectra of the large organic molecules tetracene (C18H12), pentacene (C24H14), base-free porphin (C20H14N4) and base-free phthalocyanine (C32H18N8) have been investigated in large (N ≈ 103–104) 4He droplets using laser induced fluorescence. The spectra show sharp zero phonon lines (Δν ⩽ 0.2 cm−1), accompanied by weaker phonon wings on the blue side. The very small inhomogeneous broadening of the zero phonon lines supports the unique properties of liquid He as an extremely gentle ultra-cold matrix for high resolution spectroscopy of larger molecules. Pronounced structures in the phonon wings, which are characteristic for each molecule, are attributed to the excitation of vibrational modes of the helium atoms located in shells surrounding the molecule.

TL;DR: In this article, the internal photogeneration quantum efficiency is found to be independent of wavelength below the absorption edge with the onset of photocurrent yield occurring at the absorbing edge of the film.
Abstract: Bulk photoconductive gain greater than 16 is observed in pentacene thin films deposited onto coplanar interdigitated-electrode photodetector structures. The gain is highest at low light intensity but decreases at higher light intensity due to trap filling effects. The internal photogeneration quantum efficiency is found to be independent of wavelength below the absorption edge with the onset of photocurrent yield occurring at the absorption edge of the film.

TL;DR: A new study confirms that — like their inorganic counterparts — both positive and negative charges can flow in the same material.
Abstract: Until now, organic semiconductors, such as pentacene, have only allowed the flow of one type of charge. A new study confirms that — like their inorganic counterparts — both positive and negative charges can flow in the same material.
