TL;DR: A individually position-addressable large-scale-aligned Cu nanofiber array is fabricated using electro-hydrodynamic nanowire printing and is effectively used as source/drain nanoelectrode in pentacene transistors, which show a 25-fold increased hole mobility than that of a device with Cu thin-film electrodes.
Abstract: A individually position-addressable large-scale-aligned Cu nanofiber (NF) array is fabricated using electro-hydrodynamic nanowire printing. The printed single-stranded Cu NF has a diameter of about 710 nm and resistivity of 14.1 μΩ cm and is effectively used as source/drain nanoelectrode in pentacene transistors, which show a 25-fold increased hole mobility than that of a device with Cu thin-film electrodes.

TL;DR: "dragging mode" electrohydrodynamic jet printing that can simultaneously achieve direct writing and aligning of 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-PEN) crystals is reported and the feasibility of controlling pattern shapes of the crystals as well as the fabrication of printed flexible OFET arrays is demonstrated.
Abstract: Patterning and aligning of organic small-molecule semiconductor crystals over large areas is an important issue for their commercialization and practical device applications. This Letter reports “dragging mode” electrohydrodynamic jet printing that can simultaneously achieve direct writing and aligning of 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-PEN) crystals. Dragging mode provides favorable conditions for crystal growth with efficient controls over supply voltages and nozzle-to-substrate distances. Optimal printing speed produces millimeter-long TIPS-PEN crystals with unidirectional alignment along the printing direction. These crystals are highly crystalline with a uniform packing structure that favors lateral charge transport. Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) based on the optimally printed TIPS-PEN crystals exhibit high field-effect mobilities up to 1.65 cm2/(V·s). We also demonstrate the feasibility of controlling pattern shapes of the crystals as well as the fabrication of printed ...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the long-wavelength edge features of pentacene spectra at 1.8 K and found that the main vibrational features in these spectra are similar in frequency and intensity to those obtained from the bulk sample with excitation near the center of the origin band.
Abstract: Dispersed fluorescence spectra of single molecules of pentacene in p-terphenyl at 1.8 K have been recorded by tuning the excitation laser to single-molecule features at the long-wavelength edge of the fluorescence excitation spectrum. The main vibrational features in these spectra are similar in frequency and intensity to those obtained from the bulk sample with excitation near the center of the origin band, indicating that the absorption features in the wings of the inhomogeneous distribution probably arise from normal pentacene molecules to within the resolution of this experiment. Prospects for the development of this technique are discussed

Abstract: We have manufactured pentacene field-effect transistors (FETs) on polyimide base films with polyimide gate dielectric layers, and characterized electronic performance and surface morphology with application of heat in the temperature range from 30to210°C. It is found that mobility of pentacene FETs is enhanced from 0.27to0.71cm2∕Vs when measurement temperatures varies from 30to160°C under light-shielding nitrogen environment. To investigate postannealing effects, we have measured transfer curves at 30°C after many heat cycles at various temperatures. Mobility is almost constant even after annealing at 130°C, showing the excellent stability of the present device at high temperatures.

TL;DR: In this article, the power values of power spectral density (PSD) for the AFM digital data were determined by the fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithms instead of the root-mean-square (rms) and peak-to-valley value.
