TL;DR: In this article, the refractive index of volcanic glass shards in tephras is controlled by the total transition metal oxides rather than the amount of SiO 2, and the authors proposed a new equation relating refractive indices to glass shard chemistry.

TL;DR: A detailed fluid inclusion study has been carried out on the hydrocarbon-bearing fluids found in the peralkaline complex, Lovozero as discussed by the authors, in order to further understand the processes which have generated these hydrocarbons.

TL;DR: Petrographic examination of drill cores demonstrates that the flat-lying tuffaceous and arenaceous rocks of the Wairakei hot spring area, central North Island, New Zealand, have been and are still being altered by hydrothermal solutions as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Petrographic examination of drill cores demonstrates that the flat-lying tuffaceous and arenaceous rocks of the Wairakei hot spring area, central North Island, New Zealand, have been and are still being altered by hydrothermal solutions. Interbedded argillaceous rocks remain unaltered. Alteration is progressive with depth and comprises a surficial zone of sulfuric acid leaching and zones of argillization, zeolitization, and feldspathization. The presence of an underlying zone of primary acid leaching extending down to the interface of the magmatic emanations is inferred.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the first integrated petrographic and geochemical study of rocks from the Bosumtwi impact crater, which is the most likely source crater for the Ivory Coast tektites, as the tektite and the crater have the same age (1.07 Ma).
