TL;DR: The HeI photoelectron spectrum of the NH2(X 2 B 1) radical produced from the rapid reaction has been recorded and three bands were observed corresponding to ionization of NH2 to the X 3 B 1, 1 A 1 and 1 B 1 states of NH 2 +.
Abstract: The HeI photoelectron spectrum of the NH2(X 2 B 1) radical produced from the rapid reaction has been recorded. Three bands were observed corresponding to ionization of NH2(X 2 B 1) to the X 3 B 1, 1 A 1 and 1 B 1 states of NH2 +. Measurement of the first two adiabatic ionization potentials of NH2 gave a value for the separation of the ground vibrational levels in NH2 +(X 3 B 1) and NH2 +(1 A 1) of 0·99 ±0·02 eV. Ionization energies of NH2 have been estimated using ab initio calculations which include the effects of electron correlation. These calculations indicate that two other bands arising from ionization of NH2, corresponding to formation of the 3 A 2 and 1 A 2 stages, should be observed in the HeI region but no clear evidence of these was obtained experimentally because of overlapping band problems. Spectra of the deuteriated radical were obtained and are consistent with these conclusions. Calculated and observed separations of the two lowest states of NH2 + are compared with those for the analogous ...

TL;DR: In this article, the evolution of electronic structures of hydrogenated graphene with different amount of hydrogen (H) coverage was investigated by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy and optical absorption spectro-spectroscopy.
Abstract: The evolution of electronic structures of hydrogenated graphene with different amount of hydrogen (H) coverage was investigated by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy and optical absorption spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to monitor and evaluate the H coverage. At low H coverage, the sp3 CH bonds embedded within a sp2 C matrix behave as defects in graphene and depress the delocalized π electron system. At high H coverage, two localized π electron states originating from the sp2 C clusters encircled by the sp3 CH matrix appear in the electronic band structures, and an opening of a band gap has been observed.

TL;DR: In this article, the photodissociation dynamics of the I 2 − anion have been studied in real-time using femtosecond photoelectron spectroscopy, where the anion is excited to a dissociative electronic state with an ultrafast pump pulse, and the photo-electron spectrum is measured by photodetachment with a second, ultrafast probe pulse.

TL;DR: In this article, a two photon process was reported in which benzene radical cation, C6H6+, photodissociates upon irradiation from an intense argon ion laser to produce predominantly C 6H5+ and H at photon energies significantly below thermodynamic threshold.

TL;DR: In this paper, the photoelectron spectra of an electronically excited state of H2 (B 1Σ+u) in selected vibrational and rotational levels is reported.
Abstract: We report measurements of photoelectron spectra of an electronically excited state of H2 (B 1Σ+u) in selected vibrational and rotational levels The excited state was prepared by resonant three photon excitation of H2 X 1Σ+g, v=0, J=3 and subsequently was ionized by a single additional photon Partially resolved rotational structure is observed in the photoelectron spectra and is discussed in terms of the selection rules for direct photoionization and the partial wave composition of the ejected photoelectrons An additional peak is observed in the spectra, which is tentatively interpreted as arising from photoionization of H*(n=2) formed by photodissociation of H2 in the B 1Σ+u state
