TL;DR: In this paper, a sulfur vulcanized elastomer containing aramid-polydiene copolymers was used to improve the reinforcing properties of the elastomers.
Abstract: The present invention relates to sulfur vulcanized elastomers containing aramid-polydiene copolymers. When compounded with the elastomers, the aramid-polydiene copolymers improve the reinforcing nature of the elastomers.

TL;DR: Rubber reinforced thermoplastic resins comprise (i) 5 to 40 weight percent of an elastomer phase of grafted EPDM terpolymer elastomers and grafted acrylate elastsomer and (ii) 95 to 60 weight percentage of a matrix phase comprising a monovinylidene aromatic-acrylonitrile copolymer as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Rubber reinforced thermoplastic resins comprise (i) 5 to 40 weight percent of an elastomer phase of grafted EPDM terpolymer elastomer and grafted acrylate elastomer and (ii) 95 to 60 weight percent of a matrix phase comprising a monovinylidene aromatic-acrylonitrile copolymer. The grafted EPDM plastomer, which constitutes 10 to 90 weight percent of the elastomer phase, has a volume average particle size of 0.5 mu m to 5.0 mu m and 30 to 65 weight percent (based on EPDM elastomer weight) of a grafted superstrate. The grafted acrylate elastomer, which constitute 90 to 10 weight percent of the elastomer phase, has a volume average particle size of 0.05 mu m to 0.45 mu m and 10 to 50 weight percent (based on acrylate elastomer weight) of a grafted superstrate. The resin has improved impact resistance compared with conventional EPDM-acrylate rubbers.
