TL;DR: A flame-retardant aromatic polycarbonate resin composition is defined in this paper, which is characterized by satisfying the requirement that the component (C) should comprise (C 1) mica and (C 2) talc and/or wollastonite at a specific ratio; and articles molded from the composition.
Abstract: A flame-retardant aromatic polycarbonate resin composition which comprises (A) an aromatic polycarbonate resin (component A), (B) an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer (component B), (C) an inorganic filler (component C), (D) an organophosphorus flame retardant (component D), and (E) a fluorine -containing anti-dropping agent (component E) in specified proportions and which is characterized by satisfying the requirement that the component (C) should comprise (C1) mica and (C2) talc and/or wollastonite at a specific ratio; and articles molded from the composition. The invention provides a lightweight resin composition which is excellent in mechanical characteristics, flame retardance, and dimensional stability, and little causes a mold to wear out; and molded articles thereof.

TL;DR: In this article, an estimate blend of macrocyclic oligomer compositions, such as cyclic polycarbonate or poly(alkylene dicarboxylate) oligomer mixtures, are blended with linear polymers, especially addition polymers.
Abstract: Intimate blends of macrocyclic oligomer compositions, such as cyclic polycarbonate or poly(alkylene dicarboxylate) oligomer mixtures, are blended with linear polymers, especially addition polymers. The blends flow easily and are frequently homogeneous. The macrocyclic oligomers therein may be polymerized to produce resin blends having advantageous properties.

TL;DR: In this article, a 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane solution of C60 and PC in the presence of AlCl3 under nitrogen at 140 °C for 24 h attached C60 to the PC chains, yielding fullerenated PC (C60−PCs) with a C60 content up to 2.16 wt %.
Abstract: Fullerenation of polycarbonate (PC) is achieved by direct reaction of C60 with PC using AlCl3 as catalyst. Stirring a 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane solution of C60 and PC in the presence of AlCl3 under nitrogen at 140 °C for 24 h attached C60 to the PC chains, yielding fullerenated PCs (C60−PCs) with a C60 content up to 2.16 wt %. The C60−PCs are soluble in tetrahydrofuran (THF) and chloroform, and IR, UV, and NMR analyses suggest that they possess the molecular structure HxC60(PC)x with x < 1 on the average. The C60−PCs limit strong 532-nm optical pulses more effectively than the parent C60. Light transmission spectra of the C60−PC solutions red-shift with increasing concentration, with their cutoff wavelengths predictably tunable by simply changing their concentrations.

TL;DR: In this article, a graft copolymer is obtained by graft polymerization of a vinyl monomer in the presence of an organosiloxane polymer obtained by adding a (meth)acryloyl group-containing siloxane compound as a graft crosslinking agent to a polycarbonate monomer.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polycarbonate resin composition which is improved in melt flowability (moldability) without deteriorating excellent original characteristics of a polycarbonate resin, exhibits also good pigment coloring properties and gives a molded article having a good appearance. SOLUTION: This polycarbonate resin composition comprises (X) a polycarbonate resin and (Y) an organosiloxane-containing graft copolymer obtained by graft polymerization of (B) a vinyl monomer in the presence of (A) an organosiloxane polymer obtained by adding a (meth)acryloyl group-containing siloxane compound as a graft crosslinking agent to a siloxane monomer.
