TL;DR: A survey of nine plants growing on the soil polluted by manganese mine in Daxin County, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was carried out as discussed by the authors, which indicated that the exceptional high concentration of Mn was the most important limiting factor for plant growth among three metals(Mn,Zn and Ni).
Abstract: A survey of nine plants growing on the soil polluted by manganese mine in Daxin County, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was carried out.The results indicated that the exceptional-high concentration of Mn was the most important limiting factor for plant growth among three metals(Mn,Zn and Ni).Pteris vittata, which roots showed good metal-enrichment of Mn and Ni,was turned out to have good tolerant ability of Mn,Zn and Ni according to the analysis in the paper.Miscanthus floridulus,Erigeron bonariensis,Polygonum lapathifolium and Erigeron canadensis were proved to have good Mn-tolerant ability.Microstegium gratum,Digitaria sanguinalis and Alocasia macrorrhiza were Zn-tolerant plants while Miscanthus floridulus and Erigeron canadensis were Ni-tolerant plants.Further researches which are of some significance to these plants will be still in process though hyperaccummulators of three heavy metals were not found in these plants.

TL;DR: In this article, a Polygonum sinense L oil agent has good treat effects on eczema, dermatitis and skin tineas such as tinea pedis and tinea manus, versicolor pityriasis, tinea corporis and the like, and is the external application pharmaceutical preparation with the application value.
Abstract: The invention specifically discloses a Polygonum sinense L oil agent, and belongs to the field of preparation of traditional Chinese medicine, wherein per kg of the Polygonum sinense L oil agent is prepared from the following raw materials by weight: 300-600 g of Polygonum sinense L, 5-25 g of borneol, 10-30 g of menthol, and the balance of vegetable oil. According to the present invention, the Polygonum sinense L oil agent has good treat effects on eczema, dermatitis and skin tineas such as tinea pedis and tinea manus, versicolor pityriasis, tinea corporis and the like, has characteristics oflow dosage and good effect, and is the external application pharmaceutical preparation with the application value.

TL;DR: Eight compounds were isolated from the genus Polygonum for the first time and identified as quercetin-3'-O-beta-D-galactoside, pigenin, luteolin, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, and beta-sitosterol.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents in herbs of Polygonum jucundum. METHOD The 85% ethanol extract was separated by means of silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. The compounds isolated from the plant were identified by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic evidence. RESULT Eight compounds were isolated and identified as: quercetin-3'-O-beta-D-galactoside (1), 8-methoxyquercetin (2), pigenin (3), luteolin (4), quercetin (5), 3,5,7-trihydroxychromone (6), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (7), beta-sitosterol (8). CONCLUSION All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time, compounds 5- 8 were isolated from the genus Polygonum for the first time.

TL;DR: The interferon inducing abilities of eleven ethanolic extracts obtained from nine taxons of Polygonum L. genus, were tested in the cell culture of monkey kidney and showed that the protective titre (the highest dilution which protected cells by 50% against virus infection) of the interferons-like materials was 1:10-1:15.
Abstract: The interferon inducing abilities of eleven ethanolic extracts obtained from nine taxons of Polygonum L genus, were tested in the cell culture of monkey kidney The extracts from the herb of Polygonum amphibium L and the rhizome and fruit of Polygonum bistorta L induced a substance showing an interferon-like activity Biological activity studies showed that the protective titre (the highest dilution which protected cells by 50% against virus infection) of the interferon-like materials was 1:10-1:15
