TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explored the hepatotoxicity mechanisms of PM-D by integrating network toxicology and spatially resolved metabolomics strategy, which revealed that liver toxicity was closely related to cholestasis, mitochondrial damage, oxidative stress and energy metabolism, and lipid metabolism disorders.

TL;DR: Investigation of the immunomodulating and immunostimulating property of Polygonum multiflorum extracts revealed that the extracts possessed immunosuppression and Immunostimulant properties.
Abstract: The objective of the present study was to investigate the immunomodulating property of Polygonum multiflorum extracts using various in vitro and in vivo tests. In this study, Polygonum multiflorum extracts were shown to exhibit immunomodulating activities such as cytokine production in normal rat splenocyte and cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppression model. The immunostimulant effects of Polygonum multiflorum extracts were further tested for various immunological markers. Polygonum multiflorum extracts significantly enhanced cytokines production activity in rat splenocyte. Consistently oral administration of Polygonum multiflorum extracts enhanced blood cytokine production and ameliorated spleen damage in cyclophosphamide immunosuppressed rat. In conclusion, the present investigation revealed that Polygonum multiflorum extracts possessed immunomodulating and immunostimulating properties.

TL;DR: In this article, a heat stranguria removal granule raw material polygonum capitatum extract with an anti-gonococcus effect, in particular to a polygonal capitatum extracts, was disclosed.
Abstract: The invention discloses a heat stranguria removal granule raw material polygonum capitatum extract with an anti-gonococcus effect, in particular to a polygonum capitatum extract. A preparation method of the polygonum capitatum extract comprises the following steps of: (1) adding 50-90 percent ethanol in an amount which is 5-15 times of the amount of fresh or dry product of the underground part of polygonum capitatum into the fresh or dry product of the underground part of polygonum capitatum to perform reflux extraction for one to three times, filtering, concentrating filtrate and drying to obtain alcoholic extract; (2) suspending the alcoholic extract in methanol, ultrasonically treating for 0.5-5 hours, centrifuging, and loading supernatant to an MCI macro-porous resin column; and (3) performing gradient elution by using water and 10-100 percent methanol in sequence, collecting each part of eluent, recovering solvent and drying a part obtained by elution of different solvents to obtain a methanol eluent or mixture thereof. The polygonum capitatum extract has the beneficial effects mentioned as the specification.

TL;DR: In this paper, a processing method of a polygonum multiflorum decoction piece with a high content of stilbeneglycoside and free anthraquinone was presented.
Abstract: The invention discloses a processing method of a polygonum multiflorum decoction piece with a high content of stilbeneglycoside and free anthraquinone. The processing method comprises the steps of cleaning, drying and slicing polygonum multiflorum, adding black soya bean juice concentrated liquid for thorough moistening, performing high pressure steaming and high-voltage electric field drying to form preliminarily processed polygonum multiflorum, repeating the thorough moistening, the steaming and drying for many times for the preliminarily processed polygonum multiflorum to form the radix polygonum multiflorum preparata decoction piece with a high active ingredient content and low toxicity. The traditional and modern technologies are combined; the toxicity of the polygonum multiflorum isreduced by processing for many times; the active ingredient content is increased via a modern high-pressure steaming technology and a high-voltage electric field drying technology; a curative effect of the prepared radix polygonum multiflorum preparata decoction piece is better than that of a radix polygonum multiflorum preparata decoction piece processed by the traditional technique; toxic and side effects of the decoction piece are lower than those of the decoction piece processed by a modern processing technique; and the prepared radix polygonum multiflorum preparata decoction piece is highin safety.
