TL;DR: In the present study efforts were made to standardize the dehydration technology for 10 important ornamental herbaceous plants viz., Ageratum houstonianum, Cythoclina purpurea, Gnaphalium affine, Lotus corniculatus, Persicaria (Polygonum) capitata, Rotala rotundifloia, Serratula pallida, Taraxacum officinale, Trifolium repens and Tulipa steltata
Abstract: In the present study efforts were made to standardize the dehydration technology for 10 important ornamental herbaceous plants viz., Ageratum houstonianum, Cythoclina purpurea, Gnaphalium affine, Lotus corniculatus, Persicaria (Polygonum) capitata, Rotala rotundifloia, Serratula pallida, Taraxacum officinale, Trifolium repens and Tulipa steltata from the outer Himalayas. The ornamental plant parts viz., flowers, flowering shoots or shoots have been dried in solar dryer, hot air oven, microwave oven and at room temperature with or without desiccants viz., silica gel, river sand, saw dust and boric acid, under different temperatures for varied duration. The ornamental plant parts of these herbaceous plants were subjected to 20 treatments. Based on colour, shape and texture, these dried plant parts were given scores and best drying methods (treatments) have been worked out for individual species. In the present paper all the methods for drying of ornamental plant parts of these plants have been discussed. Further, the dried ornamental plant parts have been used in preparing various floral crafts.

TL;DR: In this paper, a production method of a Relinqing preparation is revealed, which is made from Polygonum capitatum and auxiliary materials. But the method is not suitable for the use of herbs.
Abstract: The invention discloses a production method of a Relinqing preparation. The Relinqing preparation is prepared from Polygonum capitatum and auxiliary materials. According to properties of various medicinal materials in a formula of the Relinqing preparation as well as roles of the medicinal materials in the formula, the specific production method and parameters of the Relinqing preparation are improved, so that gallic acid used as an effective ingredient of the Polygonum capitatum can be detected easily, and the content of the measured gallic acid is high. Thus, the preparation is more refined and has the more significant efficacy and the good clinical effect.

TL;DR: In this paper, transgenic hairy roots of polygonum multiflorum with three 3,4-cyclocondensed coumarins as substrates were elucidated by physicochemical and extensive spectroscopic analyses.
Abstract: Two new coumarin glycosides (5 and 6), together with one known compound (4), were biosynthesized by transgenic hairy roots of Polygonum multiflorum with three 3,4-cyclocondensed coumarins as substrates (1 to 3). Their structures were elucidated by physicochemical and extensive spectroscopic analyses. The results of this study demonstrated that the hairy roots of P. multiflorum have the abilities to glycosylate 3,4-cyclocondensed coumarins in a regio- and stereo-selective manner. Furthermore, the effects of three elicitors (salicylic acid, yeast extract and HgCl2) on the accumulation of the products were evaluated. Key words: Polygonum multiflorum, transgenic hairy roots, biotransformation, 3,4-cyclocondensed coumarins.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for producing polygonum multiflorum cattle and sheep products is described, which is a rearing method aiming to the breeding process of cattle and ewes.
Abstract: The invention belongs to the technical field of the production of cattle and sheep products, and relates to a method for producing polygonum multiflorum cattle and sheep products, which is a rearing method aiming to the breeding process of cattle and sheep. The method is characterized by comprising two steps of feeding polygonum multiflorum dreg active compound feed during an adaptive period, and adding beneficial bacteria beverage into the drinking water of cattle and sheep; and injecting high concentration polygonum multiflorum extract nutrient fluid under skins of the cattle and sheep during an affinity period, and supplementing and increasing the dose of polygonum multiflorum active ingredient. By adopting the method provided by the invention, the cattle and sheep products have original flavor and further have the fragrance and healthcare functions of the polygonum multiflorum.

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship among four species of Polygonum (including P. hyrcanicum, P. persicaria and P. hydropiper) was investigated by GC profiling.
Abstract: In this study, the relationship among four species of Polygonum (including P. hyrcanicum (three samples), P. persicaria, P. avicular, and P. hydropiper) was investigated by GC profiling. Furthermore, the major compounds of the ethylic ether extract of P. hyrcanicum were identified by GC/MS as: . -bisabolol (17.5%), cedrol (15.9%), sesquisabinene hydrate (13.0%), . -elemol (10.5%) and trans-longipinocarveol (10.1%). All the identified compounds were sesquiterpenes and no monoterpene, fatty acid and/or hydrocarbone were detected in the extract. Chemical distances among the mentioned species were calculated in order to construct the dendrogram of closely related samples. Results indicated that the distance between two samples of P. hyrcanicum was considered to be short and their GC profiles were quite similar to each other and also there was a close relationship between the two samples of Polygonum with P. avicular. P. hydropiper was observed far from the two samples of P. hyrcanicum in comparison to other samples. Interestingly, P. hyrcanicum, gathered from Veresk, had no close relationship with other pairs of P. hyrcanicum. The results of this study support the phylogenetic relationships among these Polygonum species which was previously reported.
