TL;DR: Study on the antioxidant systems of Polygonum viviparum grown at two different altitudes indicated plants grown at Haibei Research Station at 3200 m altitude as compared with plants grown in Xining at 2300 m altitude had apparently higher contents of ultroviolet-absorbing compounds and ascorbic acid, and significantly higher activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase and asCorbic peroxids.

Abstract: [Objective]The study was done to investigate the antioxidative activity of polysaccharide in Polygonum cillinerve(Nakai) ohwi.[Methods]The hydroxyl radicals(·OH) and superoxide anion(O2-) were produced by Fenton reaction and pyrogallolautoxidation system respectively.Sodium nitrite and nitrosamine were synthesized in simulated human gastric juice.Reactive oxygen species and nitrosamines were tested by UV spectrophotometer.[Results]The scavenging rate to O2-and ·OH were 63% and 48% when concentration of Polygonum cillinerve(Nakai) ohwi polysaccharide was 5 mg/ml,at which the blocking rate of nitrosamine was 41.27%.The scavenging rate to nitrite was 67.03% with Polysaccharide concentration of 0.09 mg/ml.[Conclusion]Polygonum cillinerve(Nakai) ohwi polysaccharide is endowed with a strong anti-oxidation.

Abstract: The invention relates to the field of tea beverages, in particular to a Polygonum multiflorum flower health-care tea. The Polygonum multiflorum flower health-care tea comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 20%-40% of Polygonum multiflorum flowers, 5%-20% of fructus gardeniae flowers, 3%-15% of wild chrysanthemums and 3%-15% of xylitol. When the raw materials are mixed together, the raw materials can complement and promote each other, so that the efficacies are more prominent. The health-care tea has the efficacies of removing toxicity, eliminating carbuncles, loosening bowel to relieve constipation, promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis and regulating the meridians, expelling blood stasis, relieving pain, stimulating the menstrual flow, cooling and nourishing blood, removing heat from the lung to relieve cough, cooling blood for hemostasis, removing food stagnation and removing stagnation and stasis, and can have a good prevention effect on diabetes and hyperlipemia of middle-aged and old people.
