TL;DR: The Polygonum hydropiper community has strong growth potential because it has a source of biodiversity in its reservoir of germinable seeds of different species in the soil, and species diversity and dominance vary with vegetation stage.
Abstract: The seed-bank and the dynamics of a Polygonum hydropiper L. community were investigated. The study area is located along the Po river in the Central-West Po plane (Northern Italy), in Piedmont, near Alessandria. The seed-bank in the soil was investigated by means of a simplified procedure of seasonal sampling and germination tests while the dynamics of the Polygonum community was investigated within a permanent square. Results indicate that: i) The Polygonum hydropiper community has strong growth potential because it has a source of biodiversity in its reservoir of germinable seeds of different species. River overflows act both as disturbance and as vectors for propagules, selecting the species that can grow and develop within the vegetation, and the species that will be left as seeds in the soil; ii) species diversity and dominance vary with vegetation stage (seed bank, pioneer stages and mature stages); iii) two types of seed-bank were present in the soil we analysed: a transient one and a pers...

TL;DR: The polygonum multiflorum health wine is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50-70 parts of polygonal multilayer, 15-25 parts of sticky rice, 15 − 25 parts of corns, 0.5-1.5 parts of distiller yeast, 1-3 parts of radix codonopsis, 2 − 4 parts of eucommia ulmoides, 1 − 3 parts of Radix rehmannia preparate, 1− 3 parts flos carthami, and 2−4 parts
Abstract: The invention discloses polygonum multiflorum health wine and a brewing process thereof, belonging to the technical field of liquor brewing processes. The polygonum multiflorum health wine is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50-70 parts of polygonum multiflorum, 15-25 parts of sticky rice, 15-25 parts of corns, 0.5-1.5 parts of distiller yeast, 1-3 parts of radix codonopsis, 2-4 parts of eucommia ulmoides, 1-3 parts of radix rehmannia preparate, 1-3 parts of flos carthami and 2-4 parts of jujubes. The brewing process of the polygonum multiflorum health wine comprises the following steps: crushing, steaming, fermenting and distilling. The polygonum multiflorum health wine disclosed by the invention is golden yellow, has ginseng wood faint scent in smell, and sweet and smooth mouthfeel, has the effects of refreshing, leaving fragrance in mouth and nose, having no foreign flavor, not causing thirst, headaches as well as headaches after a sleep, quickly dispelling the effects of alcohol, and the like, and meets the needs of different crowds. Meanwhile, the polygonum multiflorum health wine is simple in brewing process and relatively low in cost. And the materials are easily available.

TL;DR: Field observations showed that G. atrocyanae caused a progressive decline in natural R. japonicus populations, and it is recommended as a valuable biological agent for this weed.
Abstract: The biology and host specificity of the beetle, Gastrophysa atrocyanea Motch were studied in the laboratory in Nanchang, China. This univoltine insect completed its immature stage in 32–39 days with adult overwintering in soil. A total of 35 plant species from 21 families were tested. Both larvae and adults attacked Rumex japonicus and Rumex acetosa with R. japonicus the main host. Larvae also attacked two Polygonum species, P. hydropiper and P. perfoliatum. But the adults are not concurrent with the two Polygonum species. Though oviposition occurred on five other plant species, none of them supported larval development. Field observations showed that G. atrocyanae caused a progressive decline in natural R. japonicus populations. Thus it is recommended as a valuable biological agent for this weed.

TL;DR: In this study, some ecological features of narrow endemic Polygonum istanbulicum Keskin, which was established as a new plant species in 2009, and its environs were examined.
Abstract: In this study, some ecological features of narrow endemic Polygonum istanbulicum Keskin, which was established as a new plant species in 2009, and its environs were examined. There are 41 known Polygonum taxa in Turkey and the genus is represented by 14 species in Istanbul. Plant and soil samples were collected from the place where the species merely lives in
