TL;DR: These hybrid materials behaved as very effective and selective heterogeneous catalysts for the epoxidation of allylic alcohols and oxidation of secondary alcohols to ketones with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant.
Abstract: Inorganic−organic hybrid mesoporous materials were prepared by cocrystallization of a “sandwich” type polyoxometalate, [ZnWZn2(H2O)2(ZnW9O34)2]12-, and branched tripodal organic polyammonium salts, tris[2-(trimethylammonium)ethyl]-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate or 1,3,5-tris[4-(N,N,N-trimethylammoniumethylcarboxyl)phenyl]benzene trications. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed formation of three-dimensional perforated coral-shaped amorphous materials with the organic cations surrounding polyoxometalate anions. N2 sorption analysis showed that the hybrid materials have a BET surface area of ∼30−50 m2 g-1 and an average pore diameter of 36 A leading to the classification of these materials as mesoporous materials with moderate surface areas. These hybrid materials behaved as very effective and selective heterogeneous catalysts for the epoxidation of allylic alcohols and oxidation of secondary alcohols to ketones with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The activity and...

TL;DR: The authors showed that 1 is reducible/oxidizable to the corresponding aquaruthenium(II) (2), oxoruthensium(IV), and oxorutsium(V) derivatives.
Abstract: Reaction of [Ru(H 2 O) 6 ] 2+ with [PW 11 O 39 ] 7- , followed by oxidation with O 2 yields [PW 11 O 39 Ru III (H 2 O)] 4- (1) isolated as the cesium salt. Cyclic voltammetry shows that 1 is reducible/oxidizable to the corresponding aquaruthenium(II) (2), oxoruthenium(IV), and oxoruthenium(V) derivatives.

TL;DR: The structural analyses reveal that the length of flexible bis(triazole) ligands and metal ion coordination geometries have a synergic influence on the structures of this series of Wells-Dawson polyoxoanion-based hybrid compounds.
Abstract: Through tuning the length of flexible bis(triazole) ligands and different metal ion coordination geometries, four Wells-Dawson polyoxoanion-based hybrid compounds, [Cu6(btp)3(P2W18O62)]·3H2O (1) (btp = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-y1)propane), [Cu6(btb)3((P2W18O62)]·2H2O (2), [Cu3(btb)6(P2W18O62)]·6H2O (btb = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-y1)butane) (3), and [Cu3(btx)5.5((P2W18O62)]·4H2O (btx = 1,6-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-y1)hexane) (4), were synthesized and structurally characterized. In compound 1, the metal-organic motif exhibits a ladder-like chain, which is further fused by the ennead-dentate [P2W18O62]6− anions to construct a 3D structure. In compound 2, the metal-organic motif exhibits an interesting Cu−btb grid layer, and the ennead-dentate polyoxoanions are sandwiched by two Cu−btb layers to construct a 3D structure. Compound 3 exhibits a (42·62·82) 3D Cu−btb framework with square and hexagonal channels arranged alternately. The hexa-dentate polyoxoanions incorporate only into the hexagonal channels. In compoun...
