Abstract: This paper presents the results of a full-scale experimental test on a composite floor beam designed according to American codes and standards that was subjected to elevated temperatures. The test focused on the fundamental behavior and mechanics of a composite beam with end shear connections that was subjected to combined gravity loads and thermal loading, simulating realistic fire effects that included both heating and cooling. The test was conducted on a 3.80m long composite beam that consisted of a steel beam that was composite with a flat, lightweight concrete slab through the use of shear studs, and the beam was connected to a portal frame using shear tab connections. High temperature ceramic radiant heaters with independent temperature control were used to heat the steel and concrete portions of the specimen. Results from the experimental test provide insight to the behavior of composite beams and the beam-tocolumn connections at elevated temperatures. The composite beam and connection survived heating to 600°C, but the shear tab connection fractured during cooling.

Abstract: The invention discloses a portal frame of a vacuum load absorbing and moving robot, which comprises four uprights; the tops of the uprights are fixedly connected through cross-rods; two servo load moving guide rail rods are arranged between the two cross-rods; every two uprights are connected through one cross-rod; and the two servo load moving guide rail rods are parallel to each other; and the uprights and the cross-rods are fixedly connected through bolts, and the cross-rods and the servo load moving guide rail rods are fixedly connected through bolts. The portal frame of the vacuum load absorbing and moving robot has the advantages of being simple in structure, capable of bearing lager load and convenient to mount and dismount.

Abstract: The comparison of portal frame design by penalty function optimization and traditional method aim at 30m span portal frame with tapered members was made. It was found that the essence of optimization design was to research the reasonable distributing of sections, through the interaction between capacity and key section parameters the optimization design were realized. Now the idea of green and less energy is fashionable, then optimization design is very significant in practical engineering. According to engineering statistics the optimization design can reduce 15%~30% of material quantity. In this article the selection of parameters during optimization design was expounded.
