TL;DR: In this paper, the Coulomb potentials and the structures of target states and positronium states were considered in the process of particle formation and the influence of considering modified bound-state wave functions and eigenenergies for the positron-hydrogen collisions was investigated.
Abstract: Positronium (Ps) formation cross sections (n=1, 2) in positron-hydrogen collisions for various Debye lengths from the Ps formation thresholds to 40 eV are calculated using the screening approximation model, taking account of the influence of the plasmas screening on the Coulomb potentials and the structures of target states and Ps states. The influence of considering modified bound-state wave functions and eigenenergies for the Ps by the screened Coulomb potential on the Ps formation process is investigated.

TL;DR: A hypercritical value for the magnetic field is determined in this paper, which provides the full compensation of the positronium rest mass by the binding energy in the maximum symmetry state and disappearance of the energy gap separating the electron-positron system from the vacuum.
Abstract: A hypercritical value for the magnetic field is determined, which provides the full compensation of the positronium rest mass by the binding energy in the maximum symmetry state and disappearance of the energy gap separating the electron-positron system from the vacuum. The compensation becomes possible owing to the falling to the center phenomenon. The structure of the vacuum is described in terms of strongly localized states of tightly mutually bound (or confined) pairs. Their delocalization for still higher magnetic field, capable of screening its further growth, is discussed.

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show the variance in the separation and shape of the fringe pattern as a function of the fullerene size from C60 to larger C240, showing that the positronium formation signal yields diffraction fringes in the target recoil momentum space.
Abstract: Due to the bulk electron capture from the molecular shell of fullerenes by incoming positron projectiles and a dephasing effect across the shell width, the positronium formation signal yields diffraction fringes in the target recoil momentum space. Our results show the variance in the separation and shape of the fringe pattern as a function of the fullerene size from C60 to larger C240.

TL;DR: In this paper, the basic properties of Wheeler complexes have been estimated for crystals that include positrons, positronium, electrons, holes, and excitons, and two basic forms of such quasiparticle states in crystals are considered: a) delocalized states, and b) states localized at defects.
Abstract: The basic properties of Wheeler complexes have been estimated for crystals that include positrons, positronium, electrons, holes, and excitons. Two basic forms of such quasiparticle states in crystals are considered: a) delocalized states, and b) states localized at defects. It is possible to observe Wheeler complexes by examining the annihilation characteristics of positrons in the presence of external fields such as static magnetic fields.
